Description

Matsui Yama Stop Black — Dye-Blocking Silicone Black

Dye migration is the enemy of printing on polyester and sublimated garments — reds ghost pink, blacks turn brown, and a clean print goes muddy days later. The Matsui Yama Stop Black is built to stop it. It’s a high-opacity, dye-blocking silicone black that acts as both a stand-alone black and an underbase blocker: print it down and it seals off the dyes below so your black stays black and any colors on top stay true. It brings the full silicone package — extreme stretch and rebound, a soft matte hand, and superior wash durability — on exactly the fabrics that give printers the most trouble: dark synthetics, compression wear, sports uniforms and premium tech-wear.

Why You Need a Dye Blocker

Stops dye migration

Seals off the dyes in polyester and sublimated garments so prints don’t ghost, bleed or discolor.

Black & blocker in one

Use it as a deep stand-alone black or as an underbase blocker beneath your colors.

High opacity

Very high opacity optimized for dark and sublimated fabrics — solid, deep coverage.

Full silicone stretch

Flexes and rebounds with activewear fabrics — no cracking, with superior wash durability.

How to Print Stop Black

1 · Catalyze

Stir well, then mix 90% ink with 10% silicone catalyst. Only mix what you’ll use — 4–6 hr pot life. Rest 5–10 min to release air.

2 · Print

80–160 mesh (31–63T), 70–80 durometer or triple-duro, smooth strokes. Use a solvent-resistant, silicone-compatible emulsion.

3 · Cure & test

Flash ~220°F for 5–8 sec (or before colors on top); final cure 300–320°F for 1–2 min (film above 250°F). Confirm with a stretch and wash test.

Extreme-bleed fabrics. For the worst dye-migration garments, print two layers or back Stop Black with a silicone barrier base. Under-curing hurts dye-block performance — validate cure with a wash test.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Matsui Yama Stop Black (SI0325) — Frequently Asked Questions

What is Yama Stop Black used for?
It’s a high-opacity, dye-blocking silicone black. It stops dye migration on polyester and sublimated garments and works as both a deep stand-alone black and an underbase blocker beneath other colors.
How does it block dye migration?
Printed down first, it seals off the dyes in the garment so they can’t bleed up into your print — keeping black black and colors on top true, wash after wash.
Can I use it as an underbase?
Yes — it’s engineered as both a stand-alone black and a blocker underbase. Print it, flash, then print your colors on top.
What fabrics is it for?
Polyester, sublimated garments, nylon and spandex blends — the dark, bleed-prone synthetics used in compression wear, sports uniforms and tech-wear.
What if the fabric bleeds badly?
For extreme dye migration, print two layers or back it with a silicone barrier base, and make sure it’s fully cured — validate with a stretch and wash test.
What mesh and cure should I use?
80–160 mesh, 70–80 durometer squeegee. Flash ~220°F, cure 300–320°F for 1–2 minutes (film above 250°F). Silicone reflects heat, so slow the belt if needed.
