Description

Matsui Yama High Gloss — Wet-Look Silicone Top Coat

Gloss changes everything — the same print reads as premium and eye-catching with a reflective, wet-look sheen on top. The Matsui Yama High Gloss is a clear, ultra-gloss silicone top coat you apply over cured silicone: standard Yama colors, raised HD, or puff prints. It cures to a smooth, glass-like, reflective surface that stays soft and flexible, so the shine stretches and rebounds with the garment instead of cracking. It’s a clear coat only — no pigment — so it lets the color and texture underneath show through while adding that high-end finish.

Why Add a Gloss Top Coat

Premium wet-look

A reflective, glass-like sheen that makes prints look high-end and catches the light.

Elevates any effect

Adds shine over standard color, HD or puff for a finished, luxury look.

Stays flexible

Cures soft and stretchy, so the gloss moves with the fabric and won’t crack.

Clear by design

No pigment — it lets the color and texture beneath show while adding gloss.

How to Apply the Gloss

1 · Catalyze

Stir, add 10% catalyst, mix uniform, rest 5–10 min. 4–6 hr pot life. Do not add pigment.

2 · Print over cured silicone

Apply over a fully cured silicone layer. 60–160 mesh (lower = thicker, glossier coat), 70–80 durometer or triple-duro squeegee. Solvent-resistant emulsion.

3 · Cure gently

Final cure 300–320°F for 1–2 min (film above 250°F). Only a light flash — over-flashing or over-curing can dull the gloss.

Clear coat, over cured prints. Apply High Gloss only over fully cured silicone. Don’t add pigment, and avoid over-flashing/over-curing, which dulls the shine.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Matsui Yama High Gloss (SI0329) — Frequently Asked Questions

What is Yama High Gloss used for?
It’s a clear, ultra-gloss silicone top coat. You print it over cured silicone prints — color, HD or puff — to add a smooth, reflective, wet-look shine that stays soft and stretchy.
Can I add pigment to it?
No — it’s a clear coat only. Adding pigment defeats its purpose; it’s meant to let the color and texture underneath show through while adding gloss.
Do I print it over wet or cured ink?
Over fully cured silicone. Print and cure your base/color/effect first, then apply the gloss on top and cure again.
Why did my gloss come out dull?
Usually over-flashing or over-curing, which flattens the shine. Use only a light flash and don’t overcook the final cure.
What mesh should I use?
60–160 mesh — a lower mesh lays a thicker, glossier coat. Use a 70–80 durometer or triple-duro squeegee.
What sizes are available?
Quart, gallon and 5-gallon. Call us for help sizing a job.
