Description

Matsui Yama Pigments — Mix Any Silicone Color You Want

When a customer hands you a brand color, you shouldn’t have to hope a pre-mix is close enough. Matsui Yama Pigments are high-strength color concentrates that let you mix your own silicone colors on demand — precise Pantone and brand matches, custom shades, deep standards and brilliant fluorescents — all carrying the extreme stretch, opacity and wash durability that make Yama silicone the go-to for performance apparel. Add 3%–10% by weight into a catalyzed silicone base, mix, and print. One base plus a shelf of concentrates gives you every color in the rainbow, without stocking dozens of ready-mixed buckets.

★ Pigments are concentrates, not a finished ink — blend them into a Yama silicone base (after catalyst) at 3–10% by weight.

Why Mix Your Own Silicone Colors?

Match any color

Hit exact brand and Pantone targets instead of settling for the closest pre-mix. Total control over your color.

Stretch your inventory

High-strength concentrates go a long way at 3–10%. Stock one base and a set of pigments instead of every color.

Bold fluorescents

Eleven fluorescent concentrates for high-energy activewear, athleisure and fashion prints that pop.

Full silicone performance

Your mixed colors still flex, rebound and resist washing on polyester, spandex and nylon.

Swatches are a guide only — final color depends on your base, mix ratio and fabric. Ask us for help matching a specific brand or Pantone color.

How to Mix

1 · Prep the base

Start with a Yama silicone base and add your silicone catalyst. Add pigment after the catalyst is incorporated.

2 · Add 3–10%

Weigh in 3%–10% pigment by weight — more for bold, saturated color, less for lighter shades. A scale keeps it repeatable.

3 · Mix & rest

Mix thoroughly until uniform, then let it rest 5–10 minutes to release air bubbles before printing. Cure 300–320°F.

Keep records. Write down your ratios by weight so you can reproduce a custom color exactly next time. Not sure where to start on a brand match? Call (512) 454-0505 — we’ll help.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Matsui Yama Pigments — Frequently Asked Questions

What are Matsui Yama Pigments used for?
They’re high-strength color concentrates for mixing your own custom silicone colors. Blend 3%–10% by weight into a Yama silicone base to hit precise brand or Pantone targets, custom shades or bright fluorescents — all with full silicone stretch and wash durability on performance fabrics.
Can I print the pigments straight from the container?
No — they are concentrates, not a finished ink. Mix them into a catalyzed silicone base at 3–10% by weight, then print. Printing pigment on its own won’t cure or perform correctly.
How much pigment do I add?
3%–10% by weight. Use more for bold, saturated colors and less for lighter shades. Add pigment after the catalyst is mixed into the base, blend thoroughly, and let it rest 5–10 minutes to release air.
How many colors are there?
21 concentrates — 10 standard (Black C, Lemon Yellow, O. Yellow, O. Red, Scarlet, O. Blue, UL. Blue, Green, Violet, Orange) and 11 fluorescent (Yellow 170, Yellow 250, Orange, Red 120, Red 430, Pink, Magenta, Violet 220, Violet 650, Green, Blue).
Should I buy pigments or ready-mixed colors?
Pigments are best for custom colors, brand/Pantone matching and controlling inventory with one base. Ready-mixed Yama Colors are best for fast, consistent everyday runs. Many shops keep both.
What fabrics and cure do they use?
Once mixed into a silicone base, they print on polyester, spandex, nylon and blends — activewear, athleisure, swimwear and fashion. Cure at 300–320°F (150–160°C), following your base’s full instructions.
What sizes are available?
Quart, gallon and 5-gallon pail. Because a little goes a long way, a quart of concentrate colors a lot of base. Call us for help sizing your order.
