Silicone SI0326 Ink Catalyst by Matsui – Yama Series Crosslinking & Cure Additive for Silicone Screen Printing Inks
Matsui
Matsui Silicone SI0326 Ink Catalyst is a required crosslinking additive designed specifically for use with Matsui Yama Series Silicone Inks. This catalyst activates the silicone ink system, enabling proper curing, durability, stretch performance, and wash resistance when printing on performance apparel and technical fabrics.
SI0326 allows screen printers to control pot life and curing behavior, making it ideal for professional production environments printing athleticwear, compression garments, swimwear, and premium stretch fabrics. Once added, the catalyst initiates the chemical crosslinking process that gives silicone prints their signature elasticity, abrasion resistance, and long-term durability.
⚠️ Note: Matsui Yama Silicone Inks are not pre-catalyzed. SI0326 must be added before printing.

Product Purpose
Catalyst for curing Matsui Yama Silicone Ink System; enables crosslinking, durability, stretch, and wash fastness.
Mixing Instructions
- Stir silicone base thoroughly before adding catalyst
- Mix 90% silicone base + 10% catalyst (by weight)
- Mix until completely smooth and uniform
- Add pigments after catalyst if tinting is required
- Allow mixture to rest 5–10 minutes to release air bubbles
- Only mix what will be used within the 4–6 hour pot life
Screen Setup
| Component | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Mesh | 80–160 (31–63T) depending on opacity and detail |
| Squeegee | 70–80 durometer or triple-durometer blade |
| Stencil | Solvent-resistant emulsion |
Printing
-
Print 1–2 strokes per layer
-
Flash between layers if needed
-
Flash temp: ~220°F (104°C)
-
Flash time: 5–8 seconds
-
-
For polyester or migrating fabrics, print over a silicone blocker base
Curing
| Step | Setting |
|---|---|
| Cure Temp | 300–320°F (150–160°C) |
| Dwell Time | 1–2 minutes depending on dryer |
| Ink Film Temperature | Must exceed 250°F (121°C) |
Full cure is required for maximum stretch, adhesion, and wash resistance.
Clean-Up
- Use silicone-compatible ink cleaner
- Avoid unapproved solvents — they may alter ink chemistry
Best Practices
✅ Keep screens flooded to prevent drying
✅ Pre-test on performance/elastic fabrics
✅ Store at 65–77°F (18–25°C); keep container sealed
✅ Label mixed ink with time to track pot life
❌ Do not mix with non-silicone ink systems
❌ Do not over-catalyze — reduces pot-life and may cause defects
