Description

Matsui Yama Silver Shimmer — Metallic Stretch Silicone

Metallic prints add instant premium appeal — but on stretch fabric, most metallics crack. The Matsui Yama Silver Shimmer solves that: it’s a silicone metallic that lays a brilliant, clean silver sheen with real sparkle, then stays soft and flexible so it flexes and rebounds with the garment instead of cracking. Built for logos, accents and fashion graphics on athletic and performance apparel, it holds up to washing and can be tinted up to 5% with Yama pigments for custom metallic shades. Because metallic silicone reflects heat, give it a little extra dwell to cure fully.

Why Metallic Silicone

Brilliant silver shimmer

A clean, sparkling metallic sheen with high opacity from the metallic flake load.

Stretches, won’t crack

Silicone flexibility means the metallic moves with the fabric — no cracking on stretch.

Premium accents

Perfect for logos, lettering and fashion graphics that need a high-end metallic pop.

Custom shades

Tint up to 5% with Yama pigments to shift the metallic tone.

How to Print Silver Shimmer

1 · Catalyze

Stir well, add 10% catalyst (and up to 5% pigment to tint), mix uniform, rest 5–10 min. 4–6 hr pot life.

2 · Print & keep moving

80–140 mesh (31–55T) — lower mesh = more coverage — 70–80 durometer or triple-duro squeegee, 1–2 strokes with flood between. Keep the ink moving so flakes don’t settle.

3 · Cure fully

Flash ~220°F for 5–8 sec; final cure 300–320°F for 1–2 min (film above 250°F). Metallic reflects heat — slow the belt or extend dwell.

Keep flakes suspended. Metallic flake can settle — keep the ink moving and flood between strokes. For maximum brightness on dyed/sublimated fabric, print over a blocker base.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Matsui Yama Silver Shimmer (SI0322) — Frequently Asked Questions

What is Yama Silver Shimmer used for?
It’s a metallic silver silicone ink for logos, accents and fashion graphics on performance apparel. It gives a brilliant, clean shimmer that — unlike most metallics — stays soft and flexible and won’t crack on stretch.
Can I tint it?
Yes — add up to 5% Yama pigments for custom metallic shades. Don’t exceed 5% or you’ll dull the metallic effect.
Why is my metallic uneven?
Metallic flake can settle in the ink. Keep it stirred and flood between strokes so the flakes stay suspended and lay down evenly.
How do I get maximum brightness on dark or sublimated fabric?
Print it over a smooth silicone base or a blocker base so the metallic sits on a clean surface and pops.
What mesh and cure should I use?
80–140 mesh (lower = more coverage), 70–80 durometer squeegee. Flash ~220°F, cure 300–320°F for 1–2 minutes (film above 250°F). Metallic reflects heat, so slow the belt or extend dwell.
What sizes are available?
Quart, gallon and 5-gallon. Call us for help sizing a job.
