Description

Matsui Yama Puff Base — High-Expansion 3D Puff

Puff prints grab attention — bold, rounded, dimensional lettering and graphics you can spot across a room. The Matsui Yama Puff Base delivers a dramatic 3D foam-like expansion as it cures, but with a twist the old plastisol puffs can’t match: it stays soft, flexible and stretchy. Print it through a low mesh for maximum loft, and the puff rises into a rounded, tactile texture that moves with high-stretch fabric instead of cracking. It’s built for athleisure, streetwear and textured branding, holds up to washing, and can be tinted up to 10% with Yama pigments for any color.

Why Print Puff

Dramatic dimension

Foams into a bold, rounded 3D puff that makes lettering and graphics stand out.

Soft & stretchy

Stays flexible and rebounds with the fabric — no cracking on stretch garments.

Dial the loft

Lower mesh and more strokes build more height; tune the puff to the look you want.

Any color

Tint up to 10% with Yama pigments for custom puff colors.

How to Print Puff

1 · Catalyze

Stir, add 10% catalyst (and up to 10% pigment for color), mix uniform, rest 5–10 min. 4–6 hr pot life.

2 · Print low mesh

60–110 mesh (24–43T) for maximum puff, 60–70 durometer or triple-duro squeegee, 1–3 strokes depending on desired loft. Solvent-resistant emulsion.

3 · Cure to rise

Final cure 300–320°F for 1–2 min (film above 250°F) — this is where the puff expands. Don’t over-flash beforehand or you’ll lose loft.

Don’t over-flash. Puff rises at final cure. Over-flashing before curing flattens the loft — use only a light flash if layering.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Matsui Yama Puff Base (SI0324) — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Yama Puff Base used for?
It’s a high-expansion 3D puff silicone ink. It foams into a bold, rounded, raised print for athleisure, streetwear and textured branding — and unlike old plastisol puffs, it stays soft, flexible and stretchy.
How do I get more loft?
Print through a lower mesh (60–110) and use more strokes. The puff rises at final cure, so make sure you’re curing fully and not over-flashing beforehand.
Can I color the puff?
Yes — tint up to 10% with Yama pigments for custom puff colors.
Why did my puff come out flat?
Almost always over-flashing before the final cure, which collapses the loft. Use only a light flash if layering and let it rise at final cure.
How is Puff different from HD and Emboss?
Puff foams into a rounded 3D texture; HD builds crisp, sharp-edged raised logos; Emboss gives a sculpted, leather-like surface.
What sizes are available?
Quart, gallon and 5-gallon. Call us for help sizing a job.
