Manual Application — How to Use GR-6V for Ink Removal
Step 1 — Card Excess Ink
Use an ink card or spatula to remove as much excess ink as possible from the screen before applying GR-6V. The less bulk ink the degradent has to break down, the longer the solution stays effective.
Step 2 — Spray or Apply GR-6V
Spray GR-6V onto the mesh from both sides, or apply with a scrub pad, spray bottle, or pneumatic pump sprayer. Ensure full coverage across the image area.
Step 3 — Scrub Both Sides
Using a non-abrasive brush or scrub pad, scrub both sides of the screen until the ink is liquefied. GR-6V’s high-solvency formula breaks down ink quickly under agitation.
Step 4 — High-Pressure Rinse Bottom to Top
Rinse all ink residue from the screen with high-pressure water. Start at the bottom of the screen and work upward to prevent dissolved ink from washing back into already-cleaned mesh.
Cured Ink Stain Removal — GR-6V as a Ghost Remover
For lighter ghost images and plastisol haze, GR-6V can substitute for a dedicated haze remover:
Step 1 — Remove Ink and Emulsion First
Before using GR-6V as a stain remover, complete full ink and emulsion removal. GR-6V targets cured ink stains, not fresh ink or emulsion.
Step 2 — Apply to Both Sides
Spray or apply GR-6V manually to both sides of the screen over the ghost image or stain area.
Step 3 — Scrub Both Sides
Scrub both sides with a non-abrasive brush or pad to work the solution into the mesh knuckles where the cured ink is embedded.
Step 4 — Dwell Minimum 3 Minutes
