CCI
CCI EnviroSolv® is a professional water-based ink cleaner from CCI’s Enviroline® collection — engineered specifically for screen printers running water-based and plastisol inks. Its standout strength is reopening dried-in water-based ink in the image area, something most press washes struggle with. Use it on press to prevent ghosting and fabric staining, or in the reclaim room for thorough screen cleanup. Water-based formula, low odor, no residue, non-hazardous. Available from gallon through 55-gallon drum.
Price range: $29.30 through $1,268.06
Description
CCI EnviroSolv® — The Water-Based Ink Cleaner Built for WB Screen Printers
Water-based ink is harder on screens than plastisol. It dries fast, locks into mesh, ghosts easily, and can stain fabric if it sets before cleaning. Most press washes are built for plastisol — EnviroSolv® is built for this. From CCI’s Enviroline® eco-friendly line, it’s a professional-grade water-based ink cleaner that works on press as a screen opener and in the reclaim room for full ink removal. Low odor, no residue, non-hazardous, and compatible with both WB and plastisol inks. Gallon through 55-gallon drum for any shop volume.
The WB Ink Problem Solver
Water-based ink dries quickly in the mesh. EnviroSolv® is formulated specifically to reopen dried-in WB ink from the image area — the toughest WB ink problem on press. Most cleaners aren’t built for this job. EnviroSolv® is.
Prevents Ghosting & Fabric Staining
By thoroughly cleaning WB ink from the mesh before and during reclaim, EnviroSolv® prevents the deep staining and ghost images that WB ink causes when it sets into mesh fibers.
On-Press + Reclaim
Dual-use formula. Use it on press to unclog screens mid-run and perform color changes, then use it in the reclaim room for full ink removal before emulsion stripping. One product, two jobs.
Plastisol Compatible
Not just for WB environments. EnviroSolv® safely removes plastisol ink during on-press cleanup and reclaiming, making it a versatile single-product solution for mixed ink shops.
Low Odor, No Residue
Water-based chemistry with no harsh solvent fumes and no residue left behind. Clean screens, comfortable work environment, no contamination risk for the next print run.
Non-Hazardous
CCI classifies EnviroSolv® as non-hazardous. Simpler storage, safer handling, and no special shipping restrictions from gallon through 55-gallon drum.

How to Use EnviroSolv® — On Press
For color changes, screen opening, and ink cleanup at the press during production:
Step 1 — Card Excess Ink
Scrape or card excess ink off the screen before applying EnviroSolv®. Removing bulk ink first reduces the amount of cleaner needed.
Step 2 — Apply to Both Sides
Apply EnviroSolv® to both sides of the mesh — the ink side and the substrate side. This two-sided application is key for dried-in WB ink.
Step 3 — Wipe or Squeegee
Wipe or squeegee the screen until all ink and residue is removed. For on-press use, the screen is ready for the next color or can be cataloged for later production.
How to Use EnviroSolv® — Screen Reclaim
For full ink removal during screen reclaim before emulsion stripping:
Step 1 — Remove Excess Ink
Remove as much ink as possible before applying EnviroSolv®. The more bulk ink you remove first, the more effective the chemical cleaning step will be.
Step 2 — Apply to Ink Side
Apply EnviroSolv® to the ink side of the screen. Make sure the product contacts all inked areas of the mesh.
Step 3 — Agitate Both Sides
Use a brush, pad, or scrubber to agitate both sides of the screen. Work the product into the mesh to break down ink deposits.
Step 4 — High-Pressure Rinse
Rinse both sides of the screen with high-pressure water until completely clean and residue-free. Proceed to emulsion removal.
EnviroSolv® vs. Standard Press Wash
Choose EnviroSolv® if: You run water-based, discharge, or HSA inks. EnviroSolv®’s water-based formula is specifically designed for the chemistry of WB inks — especially dried-in WB ink that other cleaners won’t fully break down. Also works on plastisol.
Choose ICC 887/926 if: You run plastisol primarily and need an emulsion-safe on-press wipe that requires no water rinse. Solvent-based formula optimized for plastisol.
🌏 Part of CCI Enviroline®
EnviroSolv® is part of CCI’s Enviroline® product collection — their line of environmentally preferred, low-odor, water-based screen printing chemicals. Non-hazardous, no harsh solvents, designed for shops prioritizing worker safety and environmental responsibility without sacrificing professional-grade cleaning performance.
💧 Two-Sided Application is Key
For best results — especially with dried-in WB ink — apply EnviroSolv® to both sides of the mesh. Single-sided application misses ink that has penetrated through to the substrate side.
⏰ Don’t Let WB Ink Dry
Water-based ink that fully dries and cures in the mesh is much harder to remove. Clean screens during production with EnviroSolv® on press rather than waiting until reclaim.
🦴 Cataloging Screens
EnviroSolv® works especially well when cataloging screens during production — cleaning and preserving screens mid-run without full reclaim so they can be stored and reused.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What makes EnviroSolv® different from a standard press wash?
Most press washes — including ICC 887 and ICC 926 — are solvent-based formulas optimized for plastisol ink. EnviroSolv® is a water-based cleaner specifically engineered for water-based and discharge ink environments. Its standout capability is reopening dried-in water-based ink from the image area, which standard plastisol press washes don’t do well. It also prevents the ghosting and fabric staining that WB ink causes when it sets into mesh.
Can EnviroSolv® be used on plastisol inks too?
Yes. EnviroSolv® is compatible with both water-based and plastisol inks. It’s an excellent choice for shops running mixed ink environments who want one cleaner that handles both systems.
How do I use it on press vs. in the reclaim room?
On press: card excess ink, apply to both sides of the mesh, then wipe or squeegee clean. No water rinse needed for on-press use. In reclaim: remove excess ink first, apply to the ink side, agitate both sides with a brush or scrubber, then rinse thoroughly with high-pressure water.
What does ‘cataloging screens’ mean in the context of EnviroSolv®?
Screen cataloging is the process of cleaning screens during a production run and storing them for re-use without full reclaiming. EnviroSolv® works especially well for this because it removes WB ink thoroughly without requiring full washout, allowing you to preserve screens mid-run for later production jobs.
Does EnviroSolv® prevent ghost images?
Yes. Ghost images in water-based printing are caused by ink staining that sets into mesh fibers when WB ink isn’t fully cleaned. EnviroSolv®’s formula is specifically designed to prevent this — protecting fabric from deep stains and keeping mesh clean between reclaim cycles.
Is EnviroSolv® safe to ship in large quantities?
Yes. CCI classifies EnviroSolv® as non-hazardous. It is available in gallon, 4-gallon case, 5-gallon pail, and 55-gallon drum without special hazmat shipping requirements. Call us at (512) 454-0505 for drum freight pricing.
What CCI products should I use alongside EnviroSolv® for a complete WB reclaim system?
For a complete CCI water-based reclaim workflow: use EnviroSolv® for on-press cleaning and ink removal, then ICC 935, 937, or 8470 emulsion remover to strip the stencil, followed by ICC 858 degreaser/haze remover to treat ghost images and prep the mesh before recoating.
