ICC 931 Ink Degradent™ – Emulsion-Safe Plastisol Ink Remover for Screen Printers
ICC
ICC 931 Ink Degradent™ is specifically formulated to remove plastisol ink from screens without damaging or degrading the emulsion stencil. This emulsion-safe chemistry allows press operators to clean screens between jobs, color changes, or production runs and put them back into use without a full reclaim — saving time, chemistry, and screen turnaround in high-volume production environments.

Description
Remove Ink Without Removing Your Emulsion
Standard ink degradents are not emulsion-safe — applying them to a screen you plan to reuse will degrade the stencil, shortening its life or rendering it unusable. ICC 931 solves this problem with chemistry that breaks down and removes plastisol ink while specifically leaving the emulsion stencil intact and undamaged.
The practical impact: screens can be cleaned between print runs, color changes, or production days without going through full reclaim. For shops with long runs or repeat jobs, this capability dramatically reduces screen turnaround time and extends the life of expensive high-mesh screens.
Emulsion-Safe Chemistry
Removes plastisol ink without degrading or compromising the emulsion stencil. Screens cleaned with ICC 931 can be returned to press without full reclaim.
Extended Screen Life
Screens that are cleaned between runs rather than reclaimed every time accumulate significantly more prints before requiring full reclaim — especially valuable for high-mesh or specialty screens.
Production Speed
Skip the full reclaim process between print runs. Clean, reinstall, and print — dramatically faster than full reclaim for repeat jobs or long-running designs.
ICC Product Line
Part of the ICC line alongside ICC 888 (economy) and ICC 8270 (premium). ICC 931 fills the specific need for emulsion-safe ink removal that the other two products don’t address.
What’s Included
- ✓ICC 931 Ink Degradent™ (Quart, Gallon, or 5 Gallon)
- ✓Safety Data Sheet (PDF)
Long-Run Production
Apply ICC 931 at scheduled screen cleaning intervals during long production runs. Maintain screen performance without pulling screens for full reclaim.
Repeat Job Screens
For designs that run weekly or monthly, ICC 931 lets you clean screens between runs and store them ready for the next run — without reclaiming and recoating each time.
Color Change Cleanup
Clean residual ink from screens between color jobs without compromising the stencil, allowing faster press readiness.
High-Value Screen Protection
High-mesh screens (305, 355+) are expensive to coat and reclaim. ICC 931 extends their usable life by reducing the frequency of full reclaim cycles.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What makes ICC 931 emulsion-safe?
ICC 931 is formulated with chemistry that specifically degrades plastisol ink molecules without attacking the photopolymer or solvent-resistant chemistry of standard screen printing emulsions. The result is ink removal without emulsion damage.
Will ICC 931 work with all emulsion types?
ICC 931 is designed for use with standard screen printing emulsions. Always test on your specific emulsion before production use, as emulsion chemistry varies by manufacturer and product.
Can I use ICC 931 instead of ICC 888 or ICC 8270 for all my ink removal?
Yes — ICC 931 works for full reclaim use as well as emulsion-safe applications. However, it’s priced higher than economy options, so some shops use ICC 888 or 8270 for screens going into full reclaim and ICC 931 only for screens being reused.
How many times can I clean a screen with ICC 931 before needing full reclaim?
This depends on ink type, mesh count, and emulsion type. Many shops report dozens of ICC 931 cleaning cycles before requiring full reclaim — but performance varies. Monitor stencil quality and print results to determine when full reclaim is needed.
