Sawgrass SubliJet-HD Sublimation Ink for SG400 & SG800

SubliJet-HD is the genuine dye-sublimation ink engineered for the Sawgrass Virtuoso SG400 and SG800. Under heat and pressure the ink turns to a gas and bonds permanently into polyester fibers and polymer coatings — the color becomes part of the item instead of sitting on top of it. The result is brilliant, photo-quality, expanded-gamut color with no hand feel, no cracking and outstanding fade resistance, from polyester tees and lanyards to mugs, tumblers, tiles, metal photo panels, coasters and keychains. Buying individual cartridges means you replace only the color that runs out, keeping your ink costs down.

Print your design mirrored onto sublimation paper from your SG400 or SG800.

3 · Press

Secure the print with heat tape and press at roughly 385–400°F with firm, even pressure.

4 · Reveal

Peel the paper to reveal permanent, full-color art dyed into the surface — nothing to feel, nothing to peel.

Which printers use SubliJet-HD?

The Sawgrass Virtuoso SG400 and SG800. It is not the same as SubliJet-UHD, which is for the newer SG500 and SG1000 — the formulas and cartridges differ, so the inks are not interchangeable.

What sizes do the cartridges come in?

On the SG400 (and SG800 standard) the colors are 29 ml and black is 42 ml. The SG800 can also use extended cartridges — 68 ml color and 75 ml black — which do not fit the SG400.

Can I buy just one color?

Yes — these are individual cartridges, so you can replace only the color that runs out instead of buying a whole set.

What can I sublimate onto?

Polyester fabric (best on high-poly) and polymer-coated hard goods — mugs, tumblers, tiles, aluminum and ChromaLuxe panels, hardboard and wood plaques, acrylic, glass, slate and coasters. It will not sublimate cotton or untreated natural materials.

Can I print on cotton with these inks?

Not directly — sublimation needs polyester or a coating. To decorate cotton and dark garments on the same printer, use Siser EasySubli Ink with EasySubli HTV.

Do I need ICC profiles?

No. SubliJet-HD runs with Sawgrass / Virtuoso Print Manager, which manages color for you — no separate ICC profiles or RIP required.

What paper and temperature should I use?

Print mirrored onto sublimation paper, secure with heat tape, and press around 385–400°F with firm pressure. Exact time and temp depend on the blank — follow its guide and test first.

How durable are the prints?

Because the ink dyes into the item, prints are permanent — they will not crack, peel or wash off, and they resist fading. There is no hand feel on fabric.

Is the ink returnable?

No — ink is a non-returnable / final-sale item. It ships factory-sealed; store it upright at room temperature and use it before the printed expiration date.
