Sawgrass SubliJet-UHD Sublimation Ink for SG500 & SG1000

SubliJet-UHD is the genuine dye-sublimation ink engineered for the Sawgrass Virtuoso SG500 and SG1000. Unlike surface inks that sit on top of a garment, sublimation ink turns into a gas under heat and pressure and bonds permanently into polyester fibers and polymer coatings — the color becomes part of the item. The result is brilliant, photo-quality, expanded-gamut color with no hand feel, no cracking, no peeling and outstanding fade resistance. From polyester tees and all-over prints to mugs, tumblers, tiles, metal photo panels and phone cases, SubliJet-UHD produces professional results wash after wash.

2 · Print

Print mirrored onto TruePix sublimation paper from your SG500 or SG1000.

3 · Press

Secure the print with heat tape and press at roughly 385–400°F with firm, even pressure.

4 · Reveal

Peel the paper to reveal permanent, full-color art dyed into the surface — nothing to feel, nothing to peel.

Sawgrass SubliJet-UHD – Frequently Asked Questions

Which printers use SubliJet-UHD?

The Sawgrass SG500 and SG1000. It is not the older SubliJet-HD used in the SG400/SG800, and it should not be mixed with ChromaBlast, EasySubli or VersiFLEX.

What is the difference between the 31 ml and 70 ml cartridges?

The 31 ml standard cartridge fits both the SG500 and SG1000. The 70 ml extended cartridge holds more ink for higher-volume shops but fits the SG1000 only — it will not physically fit the SG500.

What can I sublimate onto?

Polyester fabric (best on high-poly) and polymer-coated hard goods — mugs, tumblers, tiles, aluminum and ChromaLuxe panels, hardboard and wood plaques, acrylic, glass, slate and phone cases. It will not sublimate cotton or untreated natural materials.

Can I print on cotton with these inks?

No — true sublimation needs polyester or a polymer coating. For cotton and natural fabrics on the same printer, look at Sawgrass VersiFLEX.

Do I need ICC profiles?

No. SubliJet-UHD is designed to run with Sawgrass Print Manager (and Creative Studio), which manages color for you — no separate ICC profiles or RIP required.

What paper and temperature should I use?

Print mirrored onto TruePix sublimation paper, secure with heat tape, and press around 385–400°F with firm pressure. Exact time and temp depend on the blank — follow its guide and test first.

How durable are sublimated prints?

Because the ink dyes into the item, prints are permanent — they will not crack, peel or wash off, and they resist fading. There is no hand feel on fabric.

How long does the ink last on the shelf?

About 2 years from manufacture. The expiration date is printed on the thin edge of each cartridge; expired ink can shift color or clog, so use it in date.

Is the ink returnable?

No — ink is a non-returnable / final-sale item. Store it upright at room temperature and use it before the printed expiration date.
