Description

Vastex V-2000HD Heavy-Duty Screen Printing Press — Fixed Side Clamps

The industrial manual press configured for team apparel, numbering, and specialty vertical prints. Fixed side clamp heads in 8″, 12″, or 30″ depths — with 22″ or 26″ maximum screen width. All the precision, durability, and expandability of the V-2000HD platform — optimized for side-clamp workflows. Made in USA. 2-year warranty.

The Vastex V-2000HD with Fixed Side Clamps is the side-clamp version of Vastex’s industrial manual flagship. Every head comes from the factory with a dedicated side clamp — no swapping, no setup, no accessory install. The chassis, rotor, steel pallets, micro-registration, and all-heads-down printing are identical to the rear-clamp V-2000HD. The only difference is how the screen is held — and for team apparel shops, numbering operations, and print shops running long vertical graphics, that difference is a meaningful productivity gain.

Built to Last a Lifetime — Side Clamp Feature Overview

Fixed Side Clamp Head Design

Replaces the standard rear clamp head with a dedicated side clamp configuration. The side clamp holds the screen from the side edge instead of the rear — ideal for printing player names, numbers, vertical text, and graphics that run end-to-end.

Three Clamp Depth Options

Choose 8″, 12″, or 30″ clamp depth. 8″ is the standard replacement for rear clamp heads. 12″ accommodates most commercial jersey work. 30″ is purpose-built for printing full player names and long vertical graphics.

Two Screen Width Options

Maximum screen width is 22″ or 26″ (56 or 66 cm). Choose based on the screens already in your shop — the 26″ option handles oversized screens without switching back to rear clamps.

Double Gas Springs on 30″ Heads

The 30″ deep side clamp heads ship with VGS-DB Double Gas Springs included — required to support the added leverage of the longer clamp. No accessory upgrade needed.

Zero-Backlash Micro-Registration

Same precision micro-registration as the rear clamp V-2000HD. Spring-loaded, anti-backlash, direct-drive — 1/4 turn moves the head exactly .015″ every time, in a straight line, with no slop or play.

All Heads Down Printing

Fixed-head design means every side clamp print arm can be in the down position simultaneously. Multiple operators can print in parallel — essential for high-volume team apparel and numbering work.

VRS Pin Registration Compatible

Vastex’s VRS pin registration system has a dedicated side-clamp variant that works with any side clamp screen printing press. Register positives to screens off-press, then drop the registered screens onto the side-clamp heads — all colors in register in under a minute.

Expandable 1 to 10 Colors

Same expandable chassis as the rear clamp V-2000HD. Start with a 1-station tabletop and scale to a 10-color/10-station rotary floor press. The fixed side clamp configuration is available in every standard model.

What’s Included with Every Fixed Side Clamp V-2000HD

3

Why Side Clamps — and When to Use Them

Perfect for Team Apparel

Player names, numbers, chest graphics with vertical text, and any design that runs end-to-end on the shirt register better when the screen is clamped from the side. The rear of the pallet stays completely clear.

Longer Clamp Depth = Bigger Screens

The 30″ deep side clamps accept screens long enough for full team rosters printed in a single pass — player name across the upper back, number below, no re-registering mid-job.

Clear Rear of Pallet

With the screen clamped on the side, there’s nothing behind the shirt. Easier to load, easier to flash, easier to pull long prints. Numbering systems, large back prints, and player names all benefit.

Works Alongside DiGiT Numbering

Run side-clamp heads for team names and DiGiT-mounted rear-clamp heads for numbers on the same rotary — the V-2000HD’s expandable head system lets you mix configurations station by station.

Fixed Side Clamp vs. Rear Clamp — Which Is Right for Your Shop?

Fixed vs. Removable Side Clamps

The fixed side clamp V-2000HD ships with dedicated side clamp heads from the factory — no swapping, no setup. The alternative is a rear-clamp V-2000HD with removable clamp-on side clamp attachments, which give you flexibility to switch back and forth but take 20 seconds to install/remove. If side clamping is your primary workflow, go fixed. If you do both, go removable.

Pin Registration Advantage

The VRS pin registration system’s side-clamp variant is a major productivity multiplier for side-clamp shops. Register positives to screens off-press on the VRS pinboard, then drop the registered screens into the side-clamp heads with pin locators — all colors in register in under 60 seconds. Saves 15 to 30 minutes on every multi-color setup.

Screen Width Limits

Side clamps accept screens up to 22″ or 26″ wide depending on tube selection. On 8- and 10-station rotary presses, practical working width is limited when all heads are loaded — wider screens fit when neighboring heads are empty.

Compatible Accessories

All V-2000 pallets, rubber tops, pallet adhesives, and attachments work identically with the fixed side clamp configuration. The only differences are the print heads themselves.

Made in USA

Same manufacturing, same 60+ years of Vastex experience, same Bethlehem, Pennsylvania factory. Fixed side clamp V-2000HDs ship alongside rear clamp models on the same production line.

Financing Available

Equipment financing through our partner covers all V-2000HD side clamp configurations. Section 179 tax deduction may apply. See financing options →

Production Capacity Expectations by Model

Output varies enormously based on operator skill, ink type, flash time, print complexity, and shop workflow. The numbers below are realistic ranges for a trained operator printing standard plastisol on cotton tees with appropriate flash dwell time. Water-based and discharge inks will be slightly slower; simple 1-color prints with experienced operators can exceed these rates.

Model1-Color Rate4-Color w/ Flash6-Color w/ FlashTypical Operators
V2HD-11-T (1/1 Tabletop)40 to 60 /hrNot applicableNot applicable1 operator
V2HD-14-T (4/1 Tabletop)50 to 80 /hr30 to 45 /hrNot applicable1 operator
V2HD-FP-11 (1/1 Floor)50 to 80 /hrNot applicableNot applicable1 operator
V2HD-FP-14 (4/1 Floor)50 to 80 /hr30 to 45 /hrNot applicable1 operator
V2HD-44 (4/4 Rotary)60 to 100 /hr40 to 60 /hrNot applicable1 operator
V2HD-46 (6/4 Rotary)60 to 100 /hr40 to 60 /hr25 to 40 /hr1 to 2 operators
V2HD-66 (6/6 Rotary)80 to 120 /hr50 to 75 /hr35 to 55 /hr1 to 2 operators
V2HD-88 (8/8 Rotary)80 to 120 /hr60 to 90 /hr45 to 70 /hr2 operators optimal
V2HD-1010 (10/10 Rotary)80 to 120 /hr60 to 90 /hr50 to 80 /hr2 to 3 operators

Rates assume trained operators, properly tensioned screens, appropriate flash dryer capacity, and pre-registered screens (ideally via VRS pin registration). Team apparel work with DiGiT numbering typically runs at 30-50 shirts/hour regardless of press size. Simulated process and 8+ color jobs benefit most from multiple operators and larger-capacity dryers. Contact us if you want help matching press capacity to your target production volume.

📈 Rule of thumb for sizing

Most shops underbuy. If you are consistently doing 4-color work, skip the 4-station and go to a 6-station (one head for flash, one head for spare/highlight). If you are doing team apparel with numbers, budget for both the press AND a DiGiT numbering system or side-clamp setup from day one — retrofitting later is always more expensive than buying right the first time.

Rear Clamp vs. Fixed Side Clamp — Which Should You Buy?

The V-2000HD is available in two clamp configurations. They share the same chassis, precision, and expandability — the difference is how the screen is held during printing, which has real implications for what kinds of work each press is best at.

FeatureRear Clamp V-2000HDFixed Side Clamp V-2000HD
Clamping MethodScreen held from the back edge by 12″ steel clamp barScreen held from the side edge by 8″, 12″, or 30″ clamp

Setup FlexibilityMost flexible — can add removable side clamps for hybrid useDedicated side clamping — no tool changes between jobs
Typical BuyerGeneral screen printing shops, first-time commercial press buyersAthletic/team apparel specialists, custom jersey shops
Can Be Upgraded Later?Yes — add removable clamp-on side clamps any timeYes — side clamp heads can be replaced with rear-clamp heads at head-level
Price$1,304 to $14,575 depending on configuration$1,430 to $15,837 depending on configuration

Both presses share the same V-2000HD chassis, steel pallets, gas spring lifters, micro-registration system, all-heads-down printing, and 25-year pallet warranty. The only real difference is how the screen is held. Most shops choose rear clamp for maximum flexibility and add side clamps as needed. Shops that exclusively do team apparel often go fixed side clamp.

Considering the other clamp type?
→ See the Rear Clamp V-2000HD

⚠ 30″ Clamps Need Double Gas Springs

The 30″ deep side clamp heads ship with VGS-DB Double Gas Springs included — but if you upgrade an existing 8″ or 12″ side clamp press to 30″ clamps later, you must also upgrade the gas springs. Factor this in when speccing upgrades.

⚠ Screen Clamp Depth vs. Screen Size

Clamp depth is the length of the side clamp rail — it must be shorter than your screen’s outside frame dimension on the clamped side. 8″ depth fits standard 20×24 screens. 30″ depth is needed for 23×31 and larger screens when clamped from the side.

⚠ DiGiT Numbering Is Rear-Clamp

The DiGiT athletic numbering system clamps onto rear-clamp heads, not side-clamp heads. On a fixed side clamp V-2000HD, you can dedicate specific stations as rear-clamp for DiGiT use — spec the press with mixed head types at order time.

⚠ Pin Registration Is Highly Recommended

Side-clamp presses benefit enormously from pin registration. Add a Vastex VRS system with side-clamp pinboard to cut multi-color setup time by 50 to 80%. Do not buy a side-clamp press without budgeting for the VRS.

Shipping, Delivery & Installation

V-2000HD presses ship from Vastex’s manufacturing facility in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Most configurations require LTL freight (commercial trucking) delivery — the exception is the V2HD-11-T 1-color tabletop, which ships via UPS in two boxes.

LTL Freight (Most Models)

Palletized delivery via commercial freight carrier. Truck delivery to a loading dock is standard. If you don’t have a dock, liftgate delivery can be arranged for an additional fee. Inside delivery and white-glove placement are available as premium options — ask us for a quote.

UPS Ground (V2HD-11-T Only)

The 1-color/1-station tabletop press ships UPS in two boxes — no freight or liftgate required. Residential delivery works fine.

Dock Door Requirements

Most V-2000HD models fit through a standard 33″ doorway with disassembly. The V2HD-46 is the exception — it requires a dock door or 36″+ opening even disassembled. Measure your delivery path before ordering.

Assembly Required

V-2000HD presses ship crated and require assembly on site. The operation manual includes step-by-step assembly instructions. Most shops complete assembly in 2-4 hours with a helper, depending on the model.

Optional Installation Support

We offer installation and setup consulting for shops that want hands-on help. Includes assembly guidance, leveling, micro-registration tuning, and first-job setup. Ask for details when you request a quote.

⚠ Delivery Times Vary

Actual delivery timing depends on your configuration, current Vastex build queue, freight carrier scheduling, and your delivery location. Build times for custom-configured presses can run anywhere from a few business days for in-stock models to several weeks for larger configurations. For an accurate delivery estimate on your exact configuration, please chat, email, or call us — we’ll check current Vastex lead times and freight availability before you place your order.

Pair Your Fixed Side Clamp V-2000HD with Vastex Accessories

Every V-2000HD side clamp press accepts Vastex’s full catalog of specialty pallets, pin registration systems, and production equipment. The VRS pin registration system is strongly recommended for side-clamp workflows — it pays for itself inside the first month on multi-color setup time savings.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Vastex V-2000HD Fixed Side Clamp — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between fixed and removable side clamps?
The fixed side clamp V-2000HD ships with dedicated side clamp print heads from the factory — no swapping, no setup, no install time. The alternative is a rear-clamp V-2000HD with clamp-on side clamp attachments that install into existing rear-clamp heads in 20 seconds. Fixed is faster for side-clamp-only workflows. Removable gives you the flexibility to switch back and forth. If 80%+ of your work is side-clamp, buy fixed.
What side clamp depths are available?
Three depths: 8″ (20 cm), 12″ (30 cm), and 30″ (76 cm). 8″ is the standard replacement for rear-clamp heads. 12″ accommodates most commercial jersey work. 30″ is purpose-built for printing full player names and long vertical graphics where the screen image extends well beyond typical chest or pocket print dimensions.
What screen widths does the side clamp V-2000HD accept?
Maximum screen width is 22″ (56 cm) or 26″ (66 cm), specified at order time. On 8-station and 10-station rotary models, practical working width is 21″ (53 cm) when all heads are loaded — wider screens fit when neighboring heads are empty.
Do I need double gas springs for the 30″ side clamps?
The 30″ depth side clamp heads require double gas springs due to the added leverage of the longer clamp. Vastex includes VGS-DB Double Gas Springs with every 30″ depth configuration at no additional cost. If you upgrade an existing 8″ or 12″ side clamp press to 30″ clamps after purchase, you will also need to upgrade the gas springs separately.
Can I mix side clamp and rear clamp heads on the same press?
Yes — custom-configured at order time. Some shops run primarily side-clamp heads but dedicate 1 or 2 stations as rear-clamp so they can mount the Vastex DiGiT athletic numbering system. Call (512) 454-0505 to spec a mixed-head V-2000HD.
Can I add DiGiT numbering to a fixed side clamp press?
The DiGiT numbering system is designed for rear-clamp heads — it clamps onto the rear clamp bar. On a fixed side clamp V-2000HD, you would need to either (a) dedicate one or more stations as rear-clamp heads at order time, or (b) move your DiGiT to a separate rear-clamp press. If you are a team apparel shop doing both names and numbers, a mixed-head V-2000HD or a two-press setup (side clamp + rear clamp) is the best configuration.
Does the VRS pin registration system work with side clamps?
Yes — Vastex makes a dedicated side-clamp VRS pinboard that works with any side clamp screen printing press. Pin registration is especially valuable for side-clamp shops because it eliminates the majority of on-press registration time. See the Vastex VRS Registration System →
What’s the warranty on the fixed side clamp V-2000HD?
Same as the rear clamp V-2000HD: 2-year manufacturer’s warranty on the machine and 25-year non-warping warranty on the steel pallets. Warranty applies to manufacturing defects only, not to normal wear or abuse.
What configurations does the fixed side clamp press come in?
All nine V-2000HD base configurations: V2HD-11-T (1/1 tabletop), V2HD-14-T (4/1 tabletop rotary), V2HD-FP-11 (1/1 all-over floor), V2HD-FP-14 (4/1 floor), V2HD-44, V2HD-46, V2HD-66, V2HD-88, and V2HD-1010. Side clamp depth and screen width are specified separately at order time. The fixed side clamp version is denoted with -FSC (e.g., V2HD-44-FSC).
Can I upgrade my fixed side clamp press with more colors and stations?
Yes. The V-2000HD side clamp press uses the same expandable chassis as the rear clamp version. Station and color upgrade packages let you move from a 1/1 tabletop all the way up to a 10/10 rotary floor press. The only consideration is that new heads added during an upgrade should match your existing side clamp depth and screen width spec.
Is the side clamp press made in the USA?
Yes. Same Bethlehem, Pennsylvania factory as all other Vastex equipment. Side clamp V-2000HDs ship alongside rear clamp models on the same production line. Parts inventory is stocked domestically.
Can I finance a fixed side clamp V-2000HD?
Yes. Equipment financing through our partner covers all V-2000HD configurations including fixed side clamp models. Monthly payments, competitive rates, Section 179 tax advantages may apply. See financing options →
Do you service and support the press after purchase?
Yes. River City Supply is an authorized Vastex dealer with over 17 years of experience helping screen printers spec, install, and maintain Vastex equipment. Call (512) 454-0505 or email [email protected] for technical support, replacement parts, or upgrade questions.
