Description

Who Is This Dryer Built For?

The Vastex LittleRed X1 series is engineered for mid-capacity screen printing shops that need a real production conveyor dryer without the footprint or cost of a full industrial unit. Both models are CE Certified and manufactured in the USA.

LR-X1-30 is the right fit if… You run a manual press, print standard-sized apparel, need 120V or 240V flexibility, want a compact 41″ wide footprint, or are building your first production shop and want a dryer that can grow into an X2 or X3 as your volume increases.
LR-X1-54 is the right fit if… You need to run oversized all-over prints, load two rows of shirts simultaneously, match the output of a high-volume manual press, or regularly print with water-based or discharge inks that need longer dwell time.
Either model if… You cure a mix of plastisol, water-based, discharge, or DTF adhesive and want a single reliable dryer on a modular platform you can expand without buying a new machine.

X1-30 vs X1-54: Which One Do You Need?

Both models share the same PID controls, belt tracking, tilting heater, and modular platform. The decision comes down to belt width, voltage availability, and production volume. Still deciding? Call (512) 454-0505.

Key Features

High-Density Infrared Heating Closely spaced coils provide medium-wavelength infrared heat that penetrates directly into the ink for a full, washfast cure at maximum belt speed — no cold spots, no under-curing.
Digital PID Temperature Control (±1°F) Holds your set temperature within a single degree. Heat range up to 850°F (454°C) at the heater on 240V. Eliminates the drift that causes cure failures and reprints on cheaper dryers.
DC Belt Motor with Digital Speed Display Belt speed range of 0.6–7.4 FPM (0.18–2.3 MPM) with digital readout. Set it once, replicate it every shift for consistent dwell times on plastisol and water-based inks alike.
X-Series Belt Tracking & Teflon-Coated Belt Low-friction roller belt aligner keeps the Teflon-coated fiberglass belt tracking straight under continuous production loads. Available in 30″ (76 cm) and 54″ (137 cm) widths.
Adjustable Belt-to-Heater Clearance (2–7″) Independently adjust on each side from 2–7″ (5–17.7 cm) to optimize heat for different garment thicknesses, substrates, and ink types including bulky hoodies and structured caps.
Powered Exhaust System X1-30: 144 CFM via 4″ duct. X1-54: 300 CFM via 6″ duct. Cools the outer cabinet and evacuates moisture and fumes. Add-on EXH-18 / EXH-42 exhaust hoods strongly recommended for DTF use.
Tilting Heater Design All LittleRed series dryers feature a tilting heater — making it easy to cure structured caps, hats, and other 3D items that standard flat dryers cannot accommodate.
Modular Expandability Add 18″ or 36″ heating chambers and 18″ belt extensions as your shop grows. Upgrade your X1 into an X2 or X3 without purchasing a new dryer.
Warranty 5-year heater warranty + 2-year defect warranty. River City Supply is an authorized Vastex dealer — warranty support runs through us. Call (512) 454-0505 or email [email protected].
CE Certified Both X1 models are CE Certified by Certification Experts, The Netherlands. Made in the USA.

Ink & Substrate Compatibility

  • Plastisol inks — 25-second dwell at rated cure speeds; all standard formulations including athletic, metallic, and specialty inks
  • Water-based and HSA inks — 70-second dwell for full moisture evaporation and proper washfastness
  • Discharge inks — 70-second dwell; even heat distribution critical for consistent color removal activation
  • DTF adhesive powders — compatible; EXH-18 (X1-30) or EXH-42 (X1-54) exhaust hood strongly recommended

Recommended max image width = heater width minus 4″. Production speeds based on 16″ centers; vary by ink manufacturer, humidity, and other conditions.

Why Screen Printers Trust Vastex Dryers

Vastex International has been engineering screen printing equipment in Bethlehem, PA for decades. Their dryers are designed from the ground up for production printing.

  • Consistent results, shift after shift. Digital PID control and DC belt motor together mean your cure settings are fully repeatable. Set it once, rely on it for years.
  • Smaller footprint than the competition. A Vastex 30″ dryer is 41″ wide overall. Competing 30″ dryers typically run 33–39″ wide — wasting floor space you can’t afford.
  • Modular from day one. Upgrade your X1 into an X2 or X3 as production grows.
  • Built in the USA, CE Certified. Vastex equipment meets both domestic and international safety standards.
  • Expert support. River City Supply is an authorized Vastex distributor. Call (512) 454-0505 or email [email protected].

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What’s the difference between the X1-30 and X1-54?

The X1-30 has a 30″ belt, cures 1 row at up to 130 plastisol garments/hr on 240V, and runs on 120V or 240V. The X1-54 has a 54″ belt, cures 2 rows at up to 260 plastisol garments/hr, and requires 240V only with hard-wired installation by a licensed electrician.

Can the LittleRed X1 cure water-based and discharge inks?

Yes. The X1-30 handles 45+ water-based or discharge garments/hr; the X1-54 handles 90+/hr. Both use a 70-second dwell time vs. 25 seconds for plastisol.

Can I use the X1 for DTF adhesive powder curing?

Yes — but the EXH-18 (X1-30) or EXH-42 (X1-54) exhaust hood is strongly recommended by Vastex to reduce fume emissions. Call (512) 454-0505 to add it to your order.

Can I upgrade the X1 to an X2 or X3 later?

Yes. Add 18″ or 36″ heating chambers and extend the belt with conveyor extensions to double or triple throughput without buying a new dryer. Browse the LittleRed X2 and LittleRed X3 lineups.

What electrical requirements does the X1-30 have?

The X1-30 includes a cordset: 120V/16.5A FLA (NEMA 5-20P) or 240V/11A FLA (NEMA 6-15P). The X1-54 must be hard-wired at 240V/24A FLA (1-phase) and requires a licensed electrician. Questions? Call (512) 454-0505.

Can I cure hats and caps in the LittleRed X1?

Yes. All LittleRed series dryers feature a tilting heater design for structured caps and hats, plus independently adjustable 2–7″ belt-to-heater clearance for bulky and 3D substrates.

What warranty comes with the Vastex LittleRed X1?

The X1 includes a 5-year heater warranty and 2-year defect warranty. River City Supply is an authorized Vastex dealer. Call (512) 454-0505 or email [email protected].

How much does it cost per hour to run?

Based on 10¢/kWh: X1-30 runs approximately 26¢/hr on 240V or 20¢/hr on 120V. X1-54 runs approximately 52¢/hr. Actual costs vary by local electricity rate.
