Matsui Yama Base High Stretch Silicone Ink Mixing Base Technical Specifications:

Mixing Instructions:

  • Stir base thoroughly before use

  • Add Matsui Yama Silicone Pigments to desired color strength

    • Typical pigment load: 3%–10% by weight

  • Add Matsui Silicone Catalyst

    • Standard ratio: 90% base + 10% catalyst

  • Mix thoroughly until uniform

  • Allow mixture to rest 5–10 minutes to release air bubbles

  • Only mix what you can use within the pot-life window (approx. 4–6 hours)

Screen Setup:

Component Recommendation
Mesh 80–160 (31–63T) depending on opacity and detail
Squeegee 70–80 durometer or triple-duro blade
Stencil Solvent-resistant emulsion

Printing:

  • Print 1–2 strokes per layer

  • Flash between layers if needed

    • Flash temp: ~220°F (104°C)

    • Flash time: 5–8 seconds

  • For darker or dye-migrating fabrics, print over a silicone blocker base

Curing:

Step Setting
Cure Temp 300–320°F (150–160°C)
Time 1–2 minutes depending on dryer
Heat Through Ink Film > 250°F (121°C)

Ensure full cure for maximum stretch, wash durability, and adhesion.

Clean-Up:

  • Use silicone-friendly ink cleaner
  • Do not thin with non-approved solvents

Best Practices:

  • Keep screens flooded to prevent drying
  • Run test prints before production
  • Store ink sealed at 65–77°F (18–25°C)
  • Use low-mesh screens for high opacity builds
  • Use silicone mat or paper during post-press
  • Do not mix with non-silicone systems
  • Do not over-catalyze (shortens pot life)
