What additives should I use with Acrylicon Clear?

For most jobs, use Quick Additive at 6-9%. For individual control, use Retarder MG (1-5%), Fixer WF-N (1-5% — recommended for athletic garments), and Softener MG (1-4%). Browse all Matsui additives here.

Can I use Acrylicon Clear on dark polyester?

Yes, but print an Under Base Blocker first, flash, then apply your Acrylicon Clear + Neo Pigment color on top. Acrylicon Clear has no bleed resistance — the blocker is essential on dye-sublimation substrates. Always test before production.

What mesh count should I use with Acrylicon Clear?

The recommended range is 86-160/inch (34-63/cm). For standard color work, use 110-160 mesh. For heavier deposit and more pronounced matte effect, use 86-110 mesh.

Do all Matsui bases work with Neo Pigments?

Yes — every acrylic Matsui base is designed to mix with Matsui Neo Pigments and Glow Pigments. The base determines substrate, mesh range, and finish. The pigments determine the color. The additives optimize the process.

Which Matsui bases require a blocker on polyester?

All of them. Every Matsui clear and mixing base requires a blocker on polyester to prevent dye sublimation migration. The acrylic bases use Under Base Blocker or Kombat Blocker. The polyurethane 350 Series uses Under Base Blocker 350. Always test before production.

Is Acrylicon Clear safe for children’s clothing?

Yes. Acrylicon Clear is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, suitable for baby products, CPSIA compliant, and HR4040 compliant. It is also PVC-free, phthalate-free, and contains no co-solvents.

How does Acrylicon Clear relate to 301M Matte on cotton?

Both deliver a matte finish, but on different substrates. Acrylicon Clear is for performance and stretch fabrics at 86-160 mesh — matte + zero tack + silicone-like hand + elasticity. 301M Matte is for cotton at 305 mesh — matte + semi-opaque coverage on colored garments. Acrylicon Clear is transparent, while 301M Matte is semi-opaque.
