How to Use Matsui Quick Additive:

Step 1 – Weigh Your Ink: Using a digital gram scale, weigh the amount of ink you need for your production run.

Step 2 – Add Quick Additive: Add 4-10% Quick Additive by weight to the ink. The recommended standard is 7-9% for most applications. For maximum performance, use 9%.

  • Start at 7% and adjust. Most printers find 7-9% delivers the ideal balance of open time, softness, and wash fastness. Use 4-6% for a lighter touch or when adding other individual additives alongside it.
  • Keep humidity at 35% or above. Quick Additive extends open time, but shop humidity plays a major role too. If your shop is dry, consider a humidifier in the print area in addition to using Quick Additive.
  • Use with discharge workflows too. Quick Additive works alongside discharge activator in Matsui discharge inks. It keeps the ink open and workable during the print run while the activator handles the dye-stripping chemistry.
  • Ideal for halftone printing. The Thickener B component helps hold your dot and prevent gain. For dedicated halftone work, you can also add a small amount of standalone Thickener B (0.25-0.5%) on top of Quick Additive for even more dot control.
