Matsui Digiace Digital Discharge White | Discharge White Under Base for Digital Hybrid Screen Printing — Create a Smooth Bonding Layer Between Screen Print Underbase and Digital Inks on M&R Digital Squeegee and ROQ Hybrid Presses
Matsui
Matsui Digiace Discharge White is the premium white underbase option for digital hybrid printing on dark 100% cotton — using discharge chemistry to remove the garment’s dye and replace it with white embedded directly into the cotton fibers. The result is the softest possible hand feel: zero surface buildup, no plasticky layer, the garment feels like it was woven with white fibers. Requires Discharge Activator (3–8%) and Digiace Clear over it before the digital pass. ⚠️ 100% cotton with reactive dyes only. Mesh up to 230. Cure at 320°F.
Price range: $29.99 through $399.99
Description
Digiace Discharge White — STEP 1 — Screen Printed First (Cotton Only)
Discharge White is the premium path for dark cotton — it produces a digital hybrid print with a soft hand that standard white underbase cannot match. Where UB White deposits ink ON the fabric surface, Discharge White chemically removes the garment’s base color and replaces it with white that is IN the fiber. When you flash-cure and look at a discharged white underbase, it looks like white fabric — not a layer of ink sitting on dark fabric. The digital CMYK colors that fire onto this surface reproduce with exceptional depth, because the white foundation is the fiber itself rather than an ink film on top.

Compatible with M&R Digital Squeegee (DS-4000, DS-2000), ROQ Hybrid, and ROQ Now systems.
⚠️ Discharge Activator Required
Add 3–8% Discharge Activator by weight before printing. Without activator, Discharge White will NOT discharge garment dye. 12-hour pot life once activated — mix only what you need per session. 100% cotton with reactive dyes only.
📋 Digiace Clear Required Over This Layer
Print Digiace Digital Screen Clear over Digiace Discharge White before the digital inkjet pass. The Clear layer creates the bonding surface that optimizes digital ink adhesion and color performance. If you want to skip the Clear layer, use DS Hybrid Pre-Digital White instead.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What makes Discharge White different from UB White?
UB White deposits white ON TOP of the fabric surface. Discharge White chemically REMOVES the garment dye and embeds white INTO the cotton fibers. The result is the softest possible hand feel — zero surface ink layer.
What activator do I need?
Matsui or Printers Choice Discharge Activator at 3-8% by weight. 12-hour pot life once activated. Mix only what you need.
Does it work on polyester?
⚠️ NO. Discharge White works ONLY on 100% cotton with dischargeable (reactive) dyes. Does not discharge polyester, nylon, or synthetic fibers. For blends or polyester, use UB White or Pre-Digital White instead.
Do I need Digiace Clear over Discharge White?
YES — Digiace Digital Screen Clear should be printed over Discharge White before the digital inkjet pass for best digital ink bonding and color performance.
What equipment is it designed for?
M&R Digital Squeegee, ROQ Hybrid, and ROQ Now digital screen printing systems.
What mesh should I use?
Up to 230 mesh — higher than UB White (160) or Pre-Digital White (160). Higher mesh produces finer detail and softer deposit.
Do I need ventilation?
Yes — discharge chemistry produces fumes during curing. Adequate ventilation is recommended for all discharge printing.
