Description

Sawgrass VersiFLEX Hybrid Decorating System Ink for SG500 & SG1000

VersiFLEX is Sawgrass’ hybrid decorating ink — a brand-new chemistry that gives your SG500 or SG1000 the color of sublimation with the freedom to decorate materials sublimation could never touch. Print vivid, full-color, photo-quality artwork, then transfer it with the matching VersiFLEX paper onto cotton, poly/cotton blends, nylon, canvas, suede, wood, ceramic, slate and coated hard blanks. There is no pretreatment, no cutting and no weeding — the self-weeding transfer paper removes the excess for you, so you print, press and peel a soft, flexible, wash-durable design.

How VersiFLEX Works

If you can print it, you can press it. VersiFLEX turns full-color artwork into a heat-applied transfer in four simple steps — no screens, no cutter, no weeding.

1 · Print

Print your full-color design from a Sawgrass SG500 or SG1000 — no pretreatment and no white ink needed.

2 · Pair the paper

Use VersiFLEX Light transfer paper for soft, natural materials or TruePix sublimation paper for hard, coated blanks.

3 · Press

Position on your item, cover, and heat-press using the VersiFLEX setting for that material. Self-weeding paper handles the excess.

4 · Peel

Peel the paper as directed (low, hot peel on VersiFLEX Light) — you are left with a soft, full-color, wash-ready print.

Two Ways to Decorate

Soft & natural goods

White & light cotton, poly/cotton blends, nylon, canvas, suede and tote bags — using VersiFLEX Light self-weeding transfer paper for a soft, flexible print.

Hard & coated blanks

Sublimation mugs, tiles, wood, slate, coated metal and polyester — transferred with TruePix sublimation paper the same way you sublimate today.

Check before you switch. VersiFLEX ink is a dedicated system for the Sawgrass SG500 and SG1000. It is not interchangeable with SubliJet-UHD, ChromaBlast or EasySubli — running a printer on one ink type and then switching without a proper conversion can damage the printer and voids the warranty. Best practice is a dedicated VersiFLEX printer.

Why Decorators Choose VersiFLEX

Beyond polyester

Decorate cotton and natural fabrics that ordinary sublimation can’t — without a second printer or process.

No pretreat, no weeding

Unlike DTG or DTF, there is no pretreatment; unlike cut vinyl, the paper self-weeds. Print, press, peel.

Full-color detail

CMY + Expander delivers bright color, lifelike skin tones, clean edges and smooth gradients — unlimited colors, no screens.

Soft & certified

A low-temperature transfer leaves a soft, flexible hand and is REACH, RoHS and OEKO-TEX® certified for safe wear.

Heat Press Guidance

Soft goods (VersiFLEX Light)

  • Temperature: approx. 285–310°F / 140–155°C
  • Time: 30–45 seconds
  • Pressure: medium–firm
  • Peel: low, hot peel
  • Best on white & light colors (no white ink)

Hard blanks (TruePix)

Sublimate coated blanks with your usual sublimation settings for that item (mugs, tiles, metal, polyester). Secure the transfer with heat tape to prevent ghosting.

Always follow the VersiFLEX press guide included with your ink and test each new substrate first.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Sawgrass VersiFLEX Ink – Frequently Asked Questions

What is VersiFLEX and how is it different from sublimation?
VersiFLEX is a hybrid decorating ink for Sawgrass SG500/SG1000. Regular sublimation only bonds to polyester and coated blanks; VersiFLEX adds a low-temperature transfer with self-weeding paper so you can also decorate cotton, blends, nylon, canvas, wood and more — all from one printer.
Which printers work with VersiFLEX?
Only the Sawgrass SG500 and SG1000. VersiFLEX is a dedicated system and should not be mixed with SubliJet-UHD, ChromaBlast or EasySubli inks.
Can I switch my current Sawgrass printer to VersiFLEX?
Switching ink systems without a proper conversion can damage the printer and voids the warranty. The recommended setup is a printer dedicated to VersiFLEX ink. Call us at 512-454-0505 and we’ll walk you through it.
Do I need pretreatment or a cutter?
No. There is no pretreatment like DTG/DTF and no weeding like cut vinyl — the VersiFLEX Light transfer paper is self-weeding. You print, press and peel.
What colors are in the set? Where is the black?
VersiFLEX uses Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and an Expander cartridge. Black and dark tones are created through color mixing, and the Expander helps produce clean edges and smooth gradients.
What paper do I use?
Use VersiFLEX Light self-weeding paper for cotton and natural goods, and TruePix sublimation paper for mugs, tiles and other coated hard blanks.
What materials can I decorate?
White and light cotton, poly/cotton blends, nylon, canvas, suede and bags, plus sublimation mugs, tiles, wood, slate, coated metal and polyester. Because there is no white ink, prints look best on white and light colors.
What temperature do I press at?
For soft goods with VersiFLEX Light, roughly 285–310°F / 140–155°C for 30–45 seconds at medium–firm pressure with a low, hot peel. For hard blanks, use your normal sublimation settings for that item and secure with heat tape. Always follow the included press guide and test first.
How durable are the prints?
With proper application, expect about 30 wash cycles. Cold wash and air dry for the best longevity.
Is it returnable?
Ink is a non-returnable / final-sale item. Store it properly and use it before the printed expiration date — expired cartridges can void the warranty.
