Description
Fluorescent. Hi-Vis. Built to Be Seen.
Safety crews, construction apparel, athletic programs, and event merch all share one need: colors that demand attention. Inktek LBX 98884 Fluorescent Red delivers a blazing safety orange-red that pushes the limits of standard pigments — UV-reactive, eye-catching under any lighting, and formulated to work precisely within the LBX Pantone Mixing System. Fully cures at 280°F for safe use on performance fabrics. Use the free LBX Pantone Color Formulator at formulator.screenprintsupplies.com to get exact mix ratios instantly.
Why LBX 98884 Fluorescent Red?
LBX Flo Red sits at the hot intersection of fluorescent orange and fluorescent red — the exact color range used in hi-vis safety apparel and high-energy event gear. Under daylight or blacklight, it commands attention the way standard reds and oranges simply cannot.
Mix with LBX Flo Pink for fluorescent coral. Mix with LBX Flo Yellow for neon orange. Use the free formulator to hit specific warm fluorescent Pantone targets with precise gram-weight ratios — repeatable run after run.
Full cure at 280°F means safe use on polyester, tri-blends, and performance wear — including the moisture-wicking athletic fabrics and hi-vis safety garments where this ink color is most in demand.
Smooth body holds detail from 86 to 160 mesh. Flashes quickly without ghosting. Consistent from first shirt to last — whether you’re printing a spot neon color or running it as part of a fluorescent multi-color design.
Available Sizes
- QQuart (32 oz) — Great for shops testing fluorescent red or running smaller hi-vis and accent jobs
- GGallon (128 oz) — Standard production size for regular fluorescent and Pantone mixing work
- 55-Gallon Pail — High-volume shops running hi-vis safety programs, event merch, or athletic apparel at scale
See It in Action
Printing with LBX 98884 Fluorescent Red
Use 110–160 mesh. A thicker stencil EOM deposits more ink for a richer, more saturated fluorescent result — critical on dark garments over an underbase where you need full color impact.
Use a 70–75 durometer squeegee at moderate pressure. Fluorescent inks are thinner-bodied by nature — avoid over-squeegeeing to maintain deposit thickness and color saturation.
Flash to dry-to-touch only. Keep flash times short — prolonged heat exposure reduces fluorescent vibrancy. Don’t over-dwell under the flash unit.
Target 280°F internal ink temp verified with a donut probe. Overcuring fluorescent inks dulls the color noticeably — don’t exceed the target temp.
Where Fluorescent Red Wins
Construction crews, road crews, and safety apparel programs that need ANSI-adjacent fluorescent orange-red colors on performance vests, tees, and outerwear.
5Ks, charity runs, and athletic programs calling for maximum-visibility warm tones — especially where standard reds and oranges don’t hit bright enough.
Mix with Flo Pink for fluorescent coral. Mix with Flo Yellow for neon orange. The free formulator handles exact Pantone ratios for any warm fluorescent target.
High-energy concert and festival apparel where the warm neon spectrum — reds, oranges, corals — demands attention on and off stage.
Exceeding 280°F degrades fluorescent pigments and dulls the color. Use a donut probe to verify internal ink temp. Dial in belt speed carefully before the full run.
Fluorescent inks are semi-transparent. On dark shirts, always print a white or gray underbase first, flash it, then print the fluorescent red on top. Without it, the substrate kills the neon effect.
