Why the LBX System?

Stop Stocking Shelf Colors. Start Mixing.

Every shelf color you stock is a color you might run out of at the wrong moment. The LBX system replaces an endless shelf of pre-mixed inks with 15 bases that mix into any color you need, on demand. Less inventory. No shortages. Every Pantone covered.

Weight-Based Formulas = Repeatable Results

The LBX system uses gram-weight ratios — not percentages, not eyeballed spoonfuls. Weigh your components on a digital scale and you get the same color every time, whether you’re mixing a pint for a sample or a gallon for production. Consistency that customers can count on.

Free Formulator Does the Math

No color theory degree required. Go to formulator.screenprintsupplies.com, enter the Pantone number, and the tool gives you exact gram-weight amounts for each LBX base. No guessing. No test batches wasted getting close. Just the formula.

Low Cure — Safe on Every Modern Fabric

Every base in the kit cures at 280°F — 40 degrees below standard plastisol. Safe for polyester, tri-blends, performance wear, and any heat-sensitive fabric. One cure temp for every color in your shop. No swapping dryer settings mid-run.

How the LBX System Works

Step 1 — Get Your Formula

Go to formulator.screenprintsupplies.com. Enter your Pantone number. The tool returns exact gram-weight amounts for each LBX base needed to hit that color. Free. No account. Works on any device.

Step 2 — Weigh Your Inks

Use a digital gram scale accurate to 0.1g. Weigh each LBX base component into a clean container. Accuracy here is what produces a consistent Pantone match — don’t estimate by volume or eye.

Step 3 — Mix Thoroughly

Mix until fully homogeneous — no streaks or color variation. A paddle mixer on a drill is the most reliable method for larger batches. Always mix more than you think you need to avoid batch variation mid-job.

Step 4 — Print and Cure at 280°F

Print normally. Run through the dryer targeting 280°F internal ink temp — verify with a donut probe. Do a stretch test and periodic wash tests before shipping customer orders.

What You Can Hit with the Complete Kit

Collegiate & Athletic

Every school color — navy, royal, cardinal, kelly green, purple, gold, orange — hit with Pantone accuracy on cotton and performance fabric

Brand & Corporate

Client brand colors matched to Pantone spec — reds, blues, greens, neutrals, pastels — consistent from the first run to the hundredth reorder

Pastels & Fashion

Soft pastel pinks, lavenders, mint greens, sky blues, warm creams — the full light-value Pantone range anchored by LBX White

Neon & Fluorescent

All 5 fluorescent bases included — neon pink, red, purple, blue, and yellow for hi-vis safety gear, festival merch, and UV event apparel

⚠ You’ll Need a Digital Gram Scale

The LBX system is weight-based. A digital gram scale accurate to 0.1g is required for consistent results. Estimating by volume introduces errors that produce incorrect color matches. If you don’t have one, get one before starting — it’s a small investment that the system depends on.

⚠ Stock Extra White — You’ll Use It Most

LBX White is the dominant component in the majority of Pantone formulas — particularly pastels and light-value colors. You’ll consume white significantly faster than any other base. Order backup white when you order your kit so you’re not stuck waiting on a reorder mid-job.

The Free LBX Pantone Color Formulator

The LBX Complete Kit pairs with a free web-based Pantone color formulator built specifically for the LBX system. Enter any Pantone number and get exact gram-weight mix ratios for the LBX bases needed to hit that color. No account, no subscription, no login. Works on any device, any browser. This is the tool that makes the system work — and it’s completely free.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What exactly comes in the LBX Complete Kit?

The kit includes all 15 LBX plastisol mixing bases: LBX White, Black, Orange, Red, Magenta, Violet, Marine, Blue, Green, Yellow (10 standard bases) plus LBX Flo Pink, Flo Red, Flo Purple, Flo Blue, and Flo Yellow (5 fluorescent bases). Every base is fully inter-mixable with every other base in the system.

Do I need any other equipment to get started?

The only thing the LBX system requires beyond the inks is a digital gram scale accurate to 0.1g. The scale is what makes the weight-based formulas work — without it, you can’t mix accurately. You’ll also want a paddle mixer attachment for your drill if you’re mixing larger batches. The formulator software is free at formulator.screenprintsupplies.com and requires no download or account.

How does the free LBX Pantone Formulator work?

Go to formulator.screenprintsupplies.com — no login or account required. Enter your Pantone target number, and the tool returns exact gram-weight amounts for each LBX base needed. Weigh those amounts on a digital scale, mix thoroughly, and you have a Pantone-accurate ink. The formula is the same every time you make it, so reorders match originals exactly.

What if I run out of one base — can I reorder individual colors?

Yes — every LBX base is available individually in quart, gallon, and 5-gallon sizes from River City Supply. Most shops find they go through white significantly faster than other bases, so it’s smart to order extra white when you buy the kit. Each individual base page on screenprintsupplies.com has full product details and can be ordered separately.

Are the fluorescent bases in the kit different from the standard bases?

Yes — the 5 fluorescent LBX bases use fluorescent pigments that are UV-reactive and produce neon intensity that standard pigments can’t match. They cure at the same 280°F as the standard bases and are fully inter-mixable with them, but they have specific handling notes: don’t overcure (it dulls fluorescent pigments), always underbase on dark garments (fluorescent inks are semi-transparent), and keep flash times short.

Can I use LBX inks on polyester and performance fabrics?

Yes — the 280°F cure temp is specifically designed to be safe on polyester, tri-blends, and performance wear. This is 40°F below standard plastisol cure temps, which reduces dye migration risk on poly garments and prevents scorching of heat-sensitive fabric treatments. One cure temp works across every fabric type in your shop.

How do I confirm ink is fully cured?

Use a donut probe or thermocouple to verify the internal ink temp reaches 280°F — surface temperature guns are not accurate enough for cure verification. Do a stretch test: fully cured plastisol stretches without cracking. For production runs, do wash tests (3–5 hot wash cycles) before shipping customer orders.

Does River City Supply ship same day?

Yes — orders placed before 3:30 PM CT Monday through Friday ship the same day. Free shipping applies automatically on orders over $200. Call us at (512) 454-0505 or email [email protected] with any questions about the kit.
