Chromaline Chroma/Tech GSR Blue Solvent Resistant Screen Printing Emulsion – Fast-Exposing Photopolymer Emulsion for UV, Plastisol & Solvent Inks

Chromaline

Chromaline GSR (Chroma/Tech GSR) is the only emulsion in Chromaline’s entire lineup that is freeze/thaw stable — making it the right choice for shops receiving emulsion shipments in cold climates, or any operation that can’t guarantee emulsion temperature during storage or transit. Beyond its unique cold-weather advantage, GSR is a solvent-resistant pure photopolymer with a 2-year shelf life, pre-sensitized with no diazo required, and compatible with UV-curable, solvent-based, and plastisol ink systems. If your shop runs occasional UV or solvent work but can’t commit to a dual-cure’s sensitized shelf-life clock, GSR gives you the chemical resistance without the time pressure.

Description

The Only Freeze/Thaw Stable Chromaline Emulsion — GSR

Every other emulsion in Chromaline’s lineup shares one critical limitation: freeze and the emulsion is permanently destroyed. GSR is the exception. Its solvent-resistant SBQ photopolymer chemistry survives freeze/thaw cycles intact — making it uniquely suitable for cold-climate shipping and storage, outdoor signage operations, and shops that can’t control emulsion temperature 24 hours a day. Beyond that singular advantage, GSR is a capable UV-curable and solvent-resistant photopolymer with a 2-year shelf life, no diazo to mix, and no sensitized clock ticking down. For shops running UV or solvent inks who’ve been dealing with dual-cure sensitized shelf-life management, GSR eliminates the hassle entirely.

Why Freeze/Thaw Stability Matters

Every other Chromaline emulsion is permanently damaged if it freezes — even once. For shops in cold climates receiving winter shipments, shops without climate-controlled storage, or any operation where emulsion temperature can’t be guaranteed through transit, that’s a real liability. GSR survives freeze/thaw without degradation. Order it in winter. Store it in an unheated warehouse. Ship it to cold locations. It arrives ready to use.

No Diazo = No Shelf-Life Clock

Dual-cure emulsions for UV/solvent work require mixing a diazo sensitizer, which starts a 3–6 week sensitized shelf-life countdown. GSR is pre-sensitized — no mixing, no clock, no waste from unused sensitized emulsion. The full 24-month shelf life applies from the date of manufacture, making it ideal for shops that don’t run UV or solvent jobs every week.

Solvent-Resistant SBQ Chemistry

Standard pure photopolymers aren’t built for solvent or UV-curable inks. GSR’s SBQ chemistry is specifically engineered for solvent resistance, creating a cross-linked stencil that holds up against the chemical aggression of solvent-based and UV-curable systems — without requiring a diazo sensitizer.

Who GSR Is Right For

Shops in cold climates receiving emulsion by ground freight. Outdoor sign shops using solvent or UV-curable inks. Operations printing occasional UV or solvent jobs who don’t want to deal with sensitized dual-cure shelf life. Any shop that’s ever lost a bucket of emulsion to a cold truck or unheated storage room.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions — Chromaline GSR

Is GSR really the only Chromaline emulsion that is freeze/thaw stable?

Yes — GSR is the only emulsion in Chromaline’s full lineup that survives freeze/thaw cycles intact. Every other Chromaline emulsion (ChromaBlue, ChromaLime, Hydro X Blue, Hydro X Red, CP-Tex, UDC-2, UDC-HV, Chromaline PL) is permanently damaged by freezing. GSR is the exception.

What inks is GSR compatible with?

GSR is designed for UV-curable and solvent-based inks, and is also compatible with plastisol. Its solvent-resistant SBQ chemistry creates a stencil that resists the chemical aggression of solvent and UV ink systems without requiring a diazo sensitizer.

Why would I choose GSR over a dual-cure for UV/solvent printing?

Dual-cure emulsions require mixing a diazo sensitizer and have a 3–6 week sensitized shelf life. For shops that don’t run UV or solvent jobs regularly, this means wasting sensitized emulsion and managing a ticking clock. GSR is pre-sensitized with a 24-month shelf life — no mixing, no countdown, no waste. Use it when you need it.

Does GSR require mixing a sensitizer?

No — GSR is pre-sensitized and ready to use straight from the container. Stir gently before each use and coat. There is no diazo sensitizer to mix and no sensitized shelf-life countdown.
