Printing with LBX 98886 Fluorescent Blue

Step 1 — Screen Prep

Use 110–160 mesh for spot color work. Thicker stencil EOM gives you a richer ink deposit and more saturated fluorescent pop — especially important on darker garments over an underbase.

Step 2 — Print

Print wet-on-white or wet-on-flashed underbase. Use a 70–75 durometer squeegee at moderate pressure. Fluorescent inks are thinner-bodied by nature — avoid over-squeegeeing to maintain deposit thickness.

Step 3 — Flash (If Needed)

Flash to dry-to-touch before printing additional colors. Keep flash times short — fluorescent pigments are sensitive to prolonged heat exposure, which can reduce color intensity.

Step 4 — Cure at 280°F

Full cure at 280°F internal ink temp. Use a donut probe or thermocouple — do not rely on belt speed alone. Overcuring fluorescent inks will dull the color, so dial in your dryer carefully.

Verify your actual internal ink temp with a donut probe — not a surface gun or belt-speed estimate. Target 280°F and don’t go over. Also check that you printed on a white or light base; dark substrates without an underbase will always appear dull.

Will this ink glow under blacklight?
