Description

AlbaChem® · Item #1787 · 14 oz Aerosol · Shop All Spray Adhesives

Maximum Grip. Minimum Overspray. The Professional Mist Adhesive.

When you need the strongest possible repositionable tack for a demanding production run, AlbaChem® 1787 Premium Mist Adhesive delivers. Its coarse mist pattern lays down a heavy, heat-stable, water-resistant adhesive layer with low overspray — maximum grip where it counts, minimal waste where it doesn’t. Versatile across screen printing, embroidery, and cutting room applications. Will not transfer residue to garments.

What’s Included

1AlbaChem® 1787 Premium Mist Adhesive — 14 oz aerosol can (397 g)
Available individually or by the case — 12 cans per case
Pairs with Printers Choice Pallet Tape for optimal platen prep and zero-solvent cleanup

Key Performance Features

Super-Strong Coarse Mist Tack

The 1787’s coarse mist pattern deposits more adhesive per pass than fine mist sprays, creating a heavier, stronger grip layer. For demanding production runs where garments must hold through long print sequences without reapplication, the 1787 delivers.

Low Overspray

Despite the heavier mist deposit, the 1787 is formulated for low overspray — adhesive goes where you direct it with minimal ambient drift. Less buildup on surrounding press equipment and a cleaner working environment.

Heat Stable & Water Resistant

The 1787 holds its tack under normal production heat exposure and is water resistant — condensation, humidity, or damp shop conditions won’t compromise the adhesive bond during a run.

Will Not Transfer

Dries to a non-transferable tack. Garments come off the platen cleanly with no adhesive residue on the fabric.

Three-Department Use

Like the 1782 Eco Mist, the 1787 is listed for screen printing pallets, embroidery room applique positioning, and cutting room blotting paper hold. One product that serves multiple production departments.

Less Frequent Reapplication

The strong tack lasts longer than lighter adhesives, requiring fewer stops during a run. Higher throughput per shift and less adhesive used per garment.

Safety & Ventilation

PPE Required

Chemical-resistant gloves and safety glasses during application. Avoid prolonged skin contact.

Ventilation

Use in a well-ventilated area. Keep shop exhaust running during and after spraying sessions.

Flammability

Flammable aerosol propellant. Keep away from open flames and heat sources. Do not puncture or incinerate.

California Note

Not CARB-compliant. California customers must order 1787C. Call (512) 454-0505.

Step Zero: Apply Pallet Tape Before You Spray

Cover the clean platen with pallet tape before spraying the 1787. Spray onto the tape surface. End-of-job cleanup is just peeling off the tape — no solvents, no scrubbing, no downtime.

Choosing the Right AlbaChem Adhesive

Choose 1787 Mist When…

You need maximum grip on standard T-shirts and garments for high-volume runs. The super-strong coarse mist tack holds through long production sequences without frequent reapplication.

Choose 1786 Flash When…

Running multi-color jobs with flash cure stations. The 1786’s heat-activated tack increases with each flash — purpose-built for that workflow.

Choose 1783 Web When…

Printing on fleece, hoodies, or textured pile fabrics. The web pattern interlocks with fabric pile where mist adhesives lose grip.

Application Guide

Step 1 — Tape the Platen

Apply pallet tape to the clean, dry platen. Smooth out all bubbles.

Step 2 — Shake & Spray

Shake well. Hold can 10–12 inches from the platen. The coarse mist requires a slightly longer spray distance than fine mist adhesives for optimal coverage.

Step 3 — Load & Print

Place garment and press lightly. Repositionable until pressed firmly. The super-strong tack holds throughout the run.

Step 4 — Cleanup

Peel pallet tape for zero-solvent cleanup. Invert can and spray until clear air flows to prevent nozzle clogging.

⚠️ California Note

Not CARB-compliant. CA customers order 1787C. Call (512) 454-0505.

💡 Spray Distance

Hold 10–12 inches from platen — further than most adhesives. The coarse mist needs the extra distance to spread evenly onto the pallet tape.

💡 Eco Alternative

Want a cleaner chemical profile? The 1782 Eco Mist has no hexane, no chlorinated solvents, and is also multi-department rated.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions — AlbaChem® 1787 Premium Mist

What makes the 1787 “super-strong”?

The coarse mist spray pattern deposits a heavier layer of adhesive per pass than fine mist sprays, creating a denser, more aggressive tack. Combined with heat stability and water resistance, the 1787 holds garments firmly through demanding high-volume production runs.

Can it be used for embroidery?

Yes. AlbaChem lists embroidery as a primary application — the 1787 holds appliques in position before stitching. It also works in cutting rooms for blotting paper positioning. One product for screen printing, embroidery, and cutting departments.

Will it leave residue on garments?

No. The 1787 dries to a non-transferable tack. Garments come off the platen clean with no adhesive residue on the fabric.

Should I use pallet tape with the 1787?

Yes — apply Printers Choice Pallet Tape first, then spray the 1787 onto the tape. Cleanup is simply peeling the tape with no solvents required.

What spray distance should I use?

Hold the can 10 to 12 inches from the platen surface — slightly further than most adhesives. The coarse mist pattern needs the extra distance to spread into an even coverage layer rather than concentrating in one area.

Can I order the 1787 in California?

California customers must order the 1787C (CARB-compliant version). Call (512) 454-0505 and we’ll get you the correct version.

How does the 1787 compare to the 1786 Flash?

The 1787 delivers maximum repositionable grip for standard garments and works across three departments. The 1786 Flash is specifically engineered for multi-color flash cure workflows — its tack strengthens with each flash cycle.

Is there an eco-friendly version?

Yes. The AlbaChem 1782 Eco Mist contains no hexane and no chlorinated solvents — a cleaner chemistry alternative that is also multi-department rated for screen printing, embroidery, and cutting rooms.

How do I prevent nozzle clogging?

After each use, invert the can and spray against scrap paper until only clean air flows from the nozzle. This purges the valve and prevents clogging between sessions.
