AlbaChem® 1786C Premium Flash Adhesive – Superior Stability and Durability for Screen Printing Success

AlbaChem

AlbaChem® 1786C Premium Flash Adhesive is a heat-activated pallet adhesive engineered for multi-color screen printing with flash cure stations. Unlike standard mist adhesives, the 1786C’s tack increases with each flash cycle — the more you flash, the stronger the hold. That makes it the industry standard for shops running 4-color, 6-color, and complex multi-color jobs where garments need to hold position through repeated flash passes without slipping.

Description

AlbaChem® · Item #1786C · 13 oz Aerosol · Shop All Spray Adhesives

The Flash Adhesive That Gets Stronger Every Time You Flash

Most pallet adhesives lose tack when exposed to flash cure heat. AlbaChem® 1786C Premium Flash Adhesive is engineered to do the opposite — its heat-activated formula bonds more aggressively with each flash cycle. Load the shirt, run your colors, and the garment holds tighter with every station. No slipping, no misregistration, no reprints. The 1786C is the go-to flash adhesive for multi-color production screen printing.

What’s Included

1AlbaChem® 1786C Premium Flash Adhesive — 13 oz aerosol can (368 g)
Available individually or by the case — 12 cans per case (14 lbs)
Pairs with Printers Choice Pallet Tape for optimal platen prep and zero-solvent cleanup

Key Performance Features

Heat-Activated Tack

The 1786C uses a heat-activated adhesive system that bonds more aggressively each time the platen passes under a flash unit. The result: garments stay locked in perfect registration from the first color through the final pass, even on 6, 8, or 10-color jobs with multiple flash stations.

Fine Mist, Low Overspray

The 1786C sprays a fine mist pattern that coats the platen evenly with minimal ambient drift. Less overspray onto surrounding press components and a cleaner work environment versus coarser adhesive sprays.

Will Not Transfer

Dries to a non-transferable tack. Garments come off the platen after a full multi-color run without adhesive residue on the fabric — no sticky shirt interiors, no customer complaints.

Manual & Automatic Compatible

Works on both manual and automatic screen printing presses. On automatic presses with high-speed flash cycles, the 1786C’s heat-activated system is especially valuable for maintaining registration at production speeds.

Comparable to Sprayway 384

The 1786C is the direct comparable to Sprayway 384 — a well-known industry standard flash adhesive. Shops already familiar with Sprayway 384 can switch to the 1786C without any workflow changes.

Long-Lasting Tack

Requires less frequent reapplication during a run than standard adhesives. Fewer stops during a multi-color job means faster throughput and less adhesive used per shift.

Safety & Ventilation

PPE Required

Chemical-resistant gloves and safety glasses during application. Avoid prolonged skin contact.

Ventilation

Use in a well-ventilated area. Keep shop exhaust running during and after spraying sessions.

Flammability

Flammable aerosol propellant. Keep away from flash cure units when spraying. Do not puncture or incinerate.

✅ California Compliant

The 1786C is the CARB-compliant version. Ships to all 50 states including California.

Step Zero: Apply Pallet Tape Before You Spray

Cover the clean platen with pallet tape before spraying the 1786C. Spray the flash adhesive onto the tape surface. End-of-job cleanup is just peeling off the tape — no solvents, no scrubbing, no downtime.

Cleanup: Peel tape. Done.

1786C vs. Other AlbaChem Adhesives

Choose 1786C Flash When…

You’re running multi-color jobs with flash cure stations. The heat-activated tack is purpose-built for this workflow — it strengthens with each flash rather than degrading.

Choose 1787 Mist When…

You need maximum tack strength for standard garments without flash cure — the 1787’s coarse mist delivers super-strong grip for single-color or non-flash multi-color jobs.

Choose 1783 Web When…

You’re printing on fleece, hoodies, or textured pile fabrics where a mist adhesive can’t get a proper grip. The web pattern interlocks with fabric pile.

Application Guide

Step 1 — Tape the Platen

Apply pallet tape to the clean, dry platen. Smooth out all bubbles.

Step 2 — Shake & Spray

Shake well. Hold can 6–8 inches from the platen. Spray a light, even coat using a smooth sweeping motion onto the pallet tape.

Step 3 — Load & Print

Place garment and press lightly. Begin printing. With each flash pass, the heat-activated adhesive builds stronger tack.

Step 4 — Cleanup

Peel pallet tape for zero-solvent cleanup. Invert can and spray until clear air flows to prevent nozzle clogging.

✅ CARB Compliant

The 1786C is the CARB-compliant version. Ships to all 50 states, including California. No separate CA version needed.

💡 Spray Distance

Hold 6–8 inches from platen. Light even coat onto pallet tape. Avoid concentrating spray in one spot.

💡 Sprayway 384 Replacement

The 1786C is a direct drop-in replacement for Sprayway 384. Same workflow, same results.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions — AlbaChem® 1786C Flash

What makes the 1786C a “flash adhesive”?

The 1786C uses a heat-activated adhesive system that bonds more aggressively each time the platen passes under a flash cure unit. Most pallet adhesives lose tack when exposed to repeated heat — the 1786C does the opposite. It’s specifically engineered for multi-color screen printing workflows with flash cure stations.

Can I use it without flash cure?

Yes — the 1786C works as a standard pallet adhesive without flash cure. However, its heat-activation feature is what sets it apart. For non-flash jobs, the 1787 Premium Mist may be a better fit if you want maximum tack strength without the heat-activation chemistry.

Is it the same as Sprayway 384?

Yes — the AlbaChem 1786C is a direct comparable to Sprayway 384. Both are heat-activated flash adhesives with the same workflow. Shops familiar with the 384 can switch to the 1786C without any changes to their process.

Will it leave residue on shirts?

No. The 1786C will not transfer adhesive residue onto garment fabric. Shirts come off the platen clean after a full multi-color run.

Should I use pallet tape with the 1786C?

Yes — apply Printers Choice Pallet Tape to the platen first, then spray the 1786C onto the tape. End-of-job cleanup is simply peeling the tape with no solvents required.

Can I order the 1786C if I’m in California?

Yes — the 1786C is the CARB-compliant version specifically formulated for California and all 50 states. You are already ordering the right product. No separate CA version needed.

How does the 1786C compare to the 1787 Mist?

The 1786C is engineered specifically for flash cure workflows — its tack activates with heat. The 1787 Premium Mist delivers super-strong repositionable tack for standard garments without flash cure. Use the 1786C for multi-color flash jobs; use the 1787 when you need maximum grip on standard non-flash printing.

How do I prevent nozzle clogging?

After each use, invert the can and spray against scrap paper until only clean air flows. This purges the valve and prevents clogging between sessions.
