Description
The Navy Standard.
Navy is everywhere in screen printing — collegiate licensing, corporate apparel, workwear, team uniforms. Inktek LBX 68888 Marine is the deep, rich navy base that anchors the entire dark blue family in the LBX system. From true PMS navy to dark royal to midnight blue, Marine is the base you reach for when the job calls for serious depth. Part of the 15-color LBX Pantone Mixing System, it combines with LBX Blue, Violet, or Black to cover every dark blue Pantone target — all at a safe 280°F cure temp. Use the free LBX Pantone Color Formulator at formulator.screenprintsupplies.com to get exact mix ratios instantly.
Why LBX 68888 Marine?
LBX Marine is a deep, saturated navy formulated to anchor PMS 289, 281, 295, and the full family of dark blue Pantone targets. It provides the depth and darkness that LBX Blue (a brighter, lighter blue) can’t achieve on its own. Dark blue jobs start here.
Mix with LBX Blue to brighten toward royal. Mix with LBX Violet for blue-purple corporate navy targets. Mix with LBX Black to deepen toward midnight and near-black navy. Marine handles the dark half of the entire blue spectrum.
Full cure at 280°F means safe use on polyester, tri-blends, and athletic wear — critical for the team and corporate uniform market where navy is the most common color on polyester-blend garments.
Smooth, stable body holds detail from 86 to 160 mesh. Doesn’t shift in consistency in a warm pressroom. Flashes cleanly without ghosting — ready for wet-on-flash top colors or standalone spot color work.
Available Sizes
- QQuart (32 oz) — Good for shops adding navy mixing capability or running smaller corporate and team jobs
- GGallon (128 oz) — Standard production size for regular Pantone mixing with dark blues
- 55-Gallon Pail — High-volume shops with heavy collegiate, corporate, and team uniform programs

Printing with LBX 68888 Marine
Go to formulator.screenprintsupplies.com, enter your Pantone target, and get exact gram-weight ratios. For dark navy targets, Marine will be the dominant base with small additions of Violet or Black to tune the hue.
Use a digital gram scale accurate to 0.1g. Dark blues are unforgiving — even small variations shift the hue noticeably. Accuracy is the difference between a true PMS navy and a color that’s just close.
Mix until fully homogeneous with no streaks. Marine is a dense pigment load — make sure it’s fully incorporated before printing. A paddle mixer on a drill gives you the most consistent results.
Target 280°F internal ink temp. Verify with a donut probe. Do a stretch test and wash test before shipping customer orders.
Navy & Dark Blue Pantone Targets LBX Marine Helps You Hit
PMS 289, 281, 295, 533 — the benchmark collegiate and corporate navies used in brand standards across thousands of organizations
PMS 286, 293, 072 — deeper royal blues that sit between bright royal and true navy; mix Marine + Blue for the full range
PMS 276, 2767, 2768 — near-black navy tones; mix Marine + Black for the darkest, most formal navy targets
Brand navy colors across corporate apparel, workwear, and uniform programs — where consistent Pantone matching run to run is non-negotiable
Navy Pantone targets are especially sensitive to small formula variations — even a few grams off shifts the hue noticeably. Use a scale accurate to 0.1g and don’t eyeball any component, no matter how small the percentage.
On white and light shirts, Marine deposits cleanly as a solid dark navy. On garments with busy patterns or heavily printed areas, confirm the stencil and mesh are giving you the opacity you need before running the full job.
