Description
CCI DTF Film — Production Quality from a Specialty Chemistry Leader
Chemical Consultants Inc. brings the same engineering discipline to their DTF film that they apply to their specialty inks. CCI’s 23.6″ roll is purpose-built for wide-format DTF production — with a matte print surface that controls ink spread, a stable backing layer that feeds consistently, and a release coating that peels cleanly without tearing or smearing. For screen printing shops adding DTF as a second decoration method, CCI film’s consistent performance makes the transition straightforward.
CCI Film Key Features
CCI’s print-side matte coating controls ink absorption, reduces static charge, and provides better grip against the printer’s feed rollers. Reduced static means fewer mis-feeds, less film buckling, and more consistent media advancement — particularly important on long unattended production runs.
CCI film supports both peel modes. Hot peel immediately after pressing speeds up production. Cold peel — waiting 15–30 seconds — maximizes bond strength. The ability to choose based on the job and fabric type gives your shop flexibility without needing multiple film SKUs.
One of the most visible signs of film quality is whether your transfer edges peel cleanly or tear and smear. CCI’s release coating is engineered to separate cleanly from the ink layer at the correct peeling temperature, leaving sharp, defined transfer edges on the garment.
Ink lands evenly on the CCI print surface without spreading past the intended pixel boundaries. This translates directly to sharper fine detail, cleaner color blocking, and more accurate reproduction of logos and artwork. The surface also holds DTF powder consistently without bare spots.
At 328 feet (100 meters) per roll, CCI’s film keeps production running without frequent roll changes. For wide-format printers running at production speeds, this is roughly a full day’s worth of printing on a standard run.
Screen printers are accustomed to consistent, predictable consumables. CCI film delivers that same reliability — consistent coating, consistent release, consistent results — making it an easy choice for shops adding DTF as a complementary service.
STS 24″ Film vs. CCI 23.6″ Film — Which Is Right for Your Printer?

Heat Press Application Settings
| Fabric Type | Temp | Dwell Time | Pressure | Peel | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100% Cotton | 300–320°F | 12–15 sec | Medium-Firm | Cold | Best adhesion; most forgiving substrate for DTF. |
| 50/50 Poly-Cotton | 305–315°F | 12–15 sec | Medium-Firm | Cold | Most popular DTF substrate; consistent results. |
| 100% Polyester | 275–295°F | 10–12 sec | Light-Medium | Cold | Lower temp prevents dye migration. Always test. |
| Athletic/Performance | 275–295°F | 10–12 sec | Light | Warm | DTF excels here — stretches without cracking. |
| Nylon | 265–285°F | 10–12 sec | Light | Cold | Heat-sensitive — test on your specific nylon first. |
| Denim / Canvas | 305–315°F | 15–18 sec | Firm | Cold | Heavier weave needs longer dwell for full bond. |
Store rolls standing vertically in a cool, dry location with humidity below 60%. Horizontal storage flattens the roll core and causes uneven feeding. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions — CCI 23.6″ DTF Film
CCI’s 23.6″ film can run on the XPD-924D, but STS’s own V7/V8 film is specifically optimized for the XPD-924D’s vacuum conveyor system and STS XPD2 inks. For XPD-924D users, STS film is the recommended choice. CCI 23.6″ is an excellent option for other wide-format DTF printers or Epson-based desktop systems with the correct roll holder.
CCI film is compatible with most DTF inks formulated for Epson printhead systems, including CCI DTF Ink. The matte coating is designed to work with water-based pigment DTF inks. If you are running a non-standard ink system, test on a short section before committing to a full roll.
Always print on the matte (slightly textured) side. This is the coated print surface that accepts ink. The smooth side feeds against the printer rollers. If you are unsure, run a small test strip — ink on the wrong side will bead and not adhere properly.
The usable print width is approximately 23.5 inches — leave a small margin on each side. Most RIP software settings for wide-format DTF printers will set appropriate page margins automatically.
Yes — CCI 23.6″ film is ideal for gang sheets. With 23.5″ of usable width, you can arrange multiple designs side by side for efficient printing. RIP software like CADlink or neoStampa includes gang sheet layout tools.
