How to Use
Mesh Preparation
Start with a clean, dry screen. Degrease thoroughly using a quality degreaser such as those offered by CCI.
Coating Instructions
Use a clean coating trough with a smooth edge.
- Apply 1ā2 coats of emulsion to the print side.
- Flip the screen and apply 1ā2 coats to the squeegee side.
- Add extra coats if a thicker stencil is desired.
Coating environment should be light-safe with humidity around 65%.
Drying
Dry the screen horizontally, print side down, in a clean, dust-free area.
Recommended conditions:
- 30ā50% humidity
- Good air circulation
A dehumidifier is helpful for consistent drying results.
Exposure
Always use an exposure calculator to dial in your perfect times. Exposure varies by mesh, coating thickness, lamp type, and film density.
Approximate Exposure Times (Metal Halide 5K/8K, 2/2 Coat):
| Mesh | Color | 5K Seconds | 8K Seconds |
|---|---|---|---|
| 86 | White | 20 | 30 |
| 110 | White | 16 | 27 |
| 200 | Yellow | 16 | 27 |
| 305 | Yellow | 14 | 20 |
| 350 | Yellow | 12 | 19 |
Washout
- Lightly spray both sides with water and allow the image area to soften.
- Wash the print side until image opens.
- Rinse thoroughly and dry (a vacuum may be used to speed drying).
Reclaiming
Reclaiming is simple using CCIās ready-to-use or concentrated emulsion removers.
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry area.
- Unopened emulsion shelf life: 1 year
- Coated screens: Up to 30 days when stored properly
- Ideal temperature range: 59ā77°F (15ā25°C)
- Recommended humidity: 40ā60%
