How to Prepare & Use CCI ProChem® TX-Discharge Red:
Sensitizing & Mixing:
- Prepare the Diazo:
- Add room temperature water to the Diazo bottle, shake well, and let dissolve completely.
- Mix with Emulsion:
- Pour the Diazo solution into the emulsion and mix thoroughly.
- Allow the emulsion to sit for at least 2 hours to release air bubbles before coating.
Screen Preparation & Coating:
- Ensure the screen is clean and degreased before applying emulsion.
- Use a coating trough with a smooth edge for an even application.
- Coating Process:
- Apply 1–2 coats of emulsion on the print side.
- Reverse the screen and apply 1–2 coats to the squeegee side.
Drying & Exposure:
- Dry screens horizontally with the print side down in a clean, light-safe environment.
- Maintain a humidity level of 30% to 50% with good air circulation.
- Use an exposure calculator to determine the optimal exposure time based on mesh count, coating thickness, and exposure unit type.
Washout & Reclaiming:
- After exposure, gently spray both sides of the screen with water, allowing the emulsion to soften before rinsing out the stencil.
- For reclaiming, use CCI’s emulsion removers (available in concentrate or ready-to-use formulas) for fast and easy cleanup.
Storage & Shelf Life:
- Unmixed emulsion: Shelf life of 1 year when stored in a cool, dry place.
- Sensitized emulsion: Best results when used within 7–10 days after mixing.
- Ideal storage conditions: 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C), away from direct light and humidity.
