From Box to First Print

1. Coat & burn

Use the scoop coater and ChromaBlue emulsion to coat a screen, then expose your design.

2. Tape & load

Tape off the screen, glue your pallet with TexTac adhesive, and mount to your press.

3. Print

Flood, pull with a wood-handle squeegee, and lay down bold plastisol color.

4. Clean & repeat

Open the mesh with screen opener, reclaim, and you’re ready for the next job.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Starter Kit – Frequently Asked Questions

Is this everything I need to start screen printing?
It’s the complete supply side — screens, squeegees, scoop coater, emulsion, tapes, prep chemicals and six colors of plastisol ink. You’ll also need a press to print on and a way to cure the ink (flash or conveyor dryer). Call us and we’ll round out your setup.
Is the kit good for a complete beginner?
Yes. It takes the guesswork out of piecing a shop together — every item is chosen to work with the others. And because we print every day, you can call (512) 454-0505 for help with your first screen.
What’s included in the kit?
12 aluminum 20″×24″ screens (110/160/230 mesh), a scoop coater, 10 wood-handle squeegees, ChromaBlue emulsion, pallet tape, split tape, screen opener, pallet adhesive, six gallons of Printers Choice plastisol ink, and 6 goop scoops. See the full list on the description tab.
Do the screens come ready to use?
The screens are pre-stretched aluminum frames in three mesh counts. You coat them with the included emulsion, expose your artwork, and print — no stretching required.
Why three different mesh counts?
Different jobs need different mesh: 110 for bold spot colors and underbases, 160 for all-around detail, and 230 for finer detail and lighter deposits. Learn more on our mesh guide.
What if I only want to print one color?
Start smaller with the 1-Color Plastisol Starter Kit, or step up later with the Pro Starter Kit. Prefer soft-hand prints? See the water-based kit.
Can I reorder items individually?
Absolutely — every item in the kit is its own product on our site, so when you run low you restock exactly what you need.
