Description
STS Dye Sublimation Ink Bag for Mimaki SB53 (2 Liter) — Professional Dye Sublimation for Polyester & Coated Substrates
The STS Mimaki SB53 2-Liter Bag is the high-capacity format of the SB53 dye sublimation ink. It requires the optional Mimaki Bulk Ink System (MBIS) — a 2-liter aluminum ink bag system that reduces change frequency for high-volume production. The ink chemistry is identical to the 440ml SB53 cartridge. An MBIS system must be installed on your printer to use this format.
Key Features
High-viscosity dye sublimation formulation produces brilliant, accurate colors with smooth tonal gradations.
Manufactured by STS in the USA. Drop shipped directly from Florida for guaranteed freshness.
Nano-dispersed dye pigments penetrate polyester fibers fully during heat transfer for dense, vibrant output.
Virtually odorless during printing and transfer — safe for studio and commercial environments.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FAQ — STS Dye Sublimation Ink Bag for Mimaki SB53 (2 Liter)
Yes. The 2-liter bag format requires Mimaki’s optional MBIS (Mimaki Bulk Ink System). This is a separate accessory that must be installed on your printer. If your printer only accepts standard 440ml cartridges, order the SB53 440ml cartridge instead.
Yes. Same ink chemistry, different volume format. The 2L bag offers fewer ink changes for high-volume production environments. Both formats match Mimaki’s original SB53 sublimation ink.
SB53 is confirmed for: JV5-130S, JV5-160S, JV5-320S, JV5-320DS, JV33-130, JV33-160, JV34-260, TS3-1600, TS3-1600AMF, TS5-1600AMF, TS34-1800A, and TPC-1000. Firmware updates may be required. Confirm with Mimaki support.
Dye sublimation ink bonds only to polyester fibers and polyester-coated hard substrates (aluminum, glass, ceramic, acrylic, coated plastics). It will not transfer to cotton or natural fibers. For hard substrates, use polyester-coated products specifically designed for sublimation.
Standard settings: 380–400°F (193–204°C), 30–60 seconds, medium pressure. Settings vary by substrate. Always test before production. Under-pressing = faded colors; over-pressing = color bleed.
No. All STS ink products are non-returnable. Confirm printer model, ink format, and OEM code before ordering. Call (512) 454-0505 if unsure.
