Description

CCI Industries · 12 oz Aerosol · Shop All Spray Adhesives

Fast Coverage. Flash-Cure Ready. Multi-Substrate Mist Adhesive.

CCI Top Bond Mist is a workhorse mist pallet adhesive for production screen printing and embroidery shops. It covers the pallet quickly with a consistent mist pattern that dries to a reliable tack — ready for flash-cure jobs or standard single-color runs. It bonds to more substrates than most pallet adhesives on the market, making it versatile across different types of apparel and materials. From cotton T-shirts to heavier garments, Top Bond Mist handles everyday production with a straightforward, effective formula.

What’s Included

1CCI Top Bond Mist Pallet Adhesive — 12 oz aerosol can
Available individually or by the case — 12 cans per case
Pairs with Printers Choice Pallet Tape for optimal platen prep and zero-solvent cleanup

Key Performance Features

Flash-Cure Compatible

Top Bond Mist is specifically noted as working equally well for flash-cure applications. Whether you’re running a simple one-color job or a multi-color setup with a flash station, the adhesive tack holds through the heat cycle without releasing or going gummy.

Fast, Even Coverage

The mist pattern covers the pallet surface quickly and evenly. CCI’s formula is designed to coat the full platen area in a consistent layer — no thick spots, no thin areas — for uniform tack that holds garments flat and square.

Wide Substrate Compatibility

Bonds to cloth, paper, cardboard, acetate, foil, plastic film, cork, foam rubber, and leather. More than just a screen printing adhesive — Top Bond Mist is used across embroidery rooms, cutting rooms, and general production wherever a reliable aerosol tack is needed.

No Residue Transfer

When applied correctly, Top Bond Mist dries to a tack that will not transfer adhesive residue onto garment fabric. Shirts, hoodies, and heavy garments come off the platen clean.

Works at Room Temperature

Top Bond Mist is formulated to perform best at room temperature. In heated press rooms or during summer production, performance remains consistent as long as the spray is stored and used within normal shop temperature ranges.

Nozzle Care Matters

Like all mist adhesive aerosols, consistent nozzle maintenance is important. Always invert the can and spray until clear air flows after each session. If the nozzle clogs, soak in warm water and clear before the next use. Proper nozzle care extends can life significantly.

Platen Workflow

1

Tape platen with pallet tape

2

Spray Top Bond Mist from 6–8 inches

3

Allow to dry, load garment, print

Cleanup: Peel tape. Done.

Application Guide

Step 1 — Tape the Platen

Apply pallet tape to a clean, dry platen. Smooth flat with no bubbles or raised edges.

Step 2 — Check Tip Direction

Before each use, check that the nozzle tip is pointed in the correct direction. This is explicitly noted in CCI’s application guide — incorrect tip orientation results in poor coverage.

Step 3 — Spray the Pallet

Hold can 6–8 inches from the tape surface. Apply a light, even coat using a smooth sweeping motion. Do not concentrate in one spot. Let dry before loading.

Step 4 — Load & Print

Position fabric on the coated area and proceed with the screening process. The tack holds garments in place through flash-cure and multi-color production.

Step 5 — Nozzle Care

After each session, invert the can and spray until only clean air flows. This is the single most important step in extending nozzle life and preventing clogging on future uses.

Top Bond Mist vs. Top Bond Web — Which CCI Adhesive Is Right?

Choose Top Bond Mist When…

You’re printing on standard T-shirts, cotton, polyester, or lightweight garments where a standard mist adhesive provides adequate grip. Also the go-to for embroidery, cutting rooms, and multi-substrate bonding applications.

Choose Top Bond Web When…

You’re printing on fleece, hoodies, sweatshirts, or textured pile fabrics where a mist adhesive can’t get sufficient grip. The web pattern interlocks mechanically with fabric pile for a stronger hold on challenging substrates.

Eco Preference?

Shops concerned about occupational chemical exposure from benzene-containing products should consider the AlbaChem 1782 Eco Mist — formulated without hexane and without benzene-related compounds.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions — CCI Top Bond Mist

What is CCI Top Bond Mist used for?

Top Bond Mist is a fast-covering aerosol pallet adhesive for screen printing and embroidery production. It provides a reliable mist tack on the platen that holds garments in position during printing — including through flash-cure stations on multi-color jobs. It also bonds cloth, paper, cardboard, acetate, foil, plastic film, cork, foam rubber, and leather, making it useful across multiple production departments.

Is Top Bond Mist flash-cure compatible?

Yes. CCI specifically states that Top Bond Mist works equally well for flash-cure applications. The adhesive tack holds through heat cycles from flash cure units without releasing or degrading, making it suitable for multi-color production runs with flash stations.

What is the California Prop 65 warning on this product?

CCI Top Bond Mist carries a California Proposition 65 warning. It contains benzene (listed as a carcinogen and reproductive toxin), methanol (developmental toxin), ethylbenzene (carcinogen), and toluene (developmental toxin). Additionally, this product cannot be sold into Ventura County, CA due to that county’s Air Quality Management District regulations. Shops concerned about this chemical profile should consider the AlbaChem 1782 Eco Mist, which contains no benzene or related compounds.

Will it leave residue on shirts?

When applied correctly — a light, even coat from 6–8 inches — Top Bond Mist will not transfer adhesive residue to garments. Proper application amount and allowing the adhesive to dry before loading garments are both important for avoiding transfer.

Should I use pallet tape with Top Bond Mist?

Yes — the recommended workflow is to apply Printers Choice Pallet Tape first, then spray Top Bond Mist onto the tape surface. End-of-job cleanup is simply peeling the tape with no solvents required. This protects the platen from adhesive buildup over time.

What is the correct spray distance?

Hold the can 6 to 8 inches from the pallet surface. Apply a light, even coat. Do not concentrate the spray in one spot — an even sweep across the full platen area produces the best results. Verify the nozzle tip direction before each session.

What’s the difference between Top Bond Mist and Top Bond Web?

Both are CCI pallet adhesives with broad substrate compatibility and flash-cure performance. Top Bond Mist uses a fine mist pattern and is best for standard T-shirts, cotton, and polyester garments. Top Bond Web uses a fibrous web pattern that interlocks with heavy pile fabrics like fleece and hoodies, where a mist adhesive would lack adequate grip.

Can it be shipped by air?

No. CCI Top Bond Mist is a flammable aerosol and ships by ground only. Air shipment is not available. Plan orders with standard ground transit time in mind to avoid running out during production.

How do I prevent nozzle clogging?

After every session, invert the can and spray until only clean air flows from the nozzle. This is the single most effective way to prevent the mist adhesive from curing inside the valve between uses. If a nozzle is already gummed, remove it and soak in warm water to dissolve the adhesive before reattaching.
