How to Print with Summit White LB

1Stir the ink thoroughly before printing – it prints straight from the bucket, no viscosity modifier needed.
2Choose your mesh: lower mesh (86-160) for maximum opacity on dark garments, higher mesh for finer detail. The low-tack formula clears fine mesh cleanly.
3Flood with a hard flood and print with a medium stroke using a 70/80 sharp squeegee at about 1/16″ off-contact.
4Flash at 240-260°F between hits if you are printing wet-on-wet or building opacity.
5Cure at 320°F. On cotton, high ink deposits, or heavy garments, you may need higher temps or longer dwell to fully fuse.
6Always run a fusion, wash, and stretch test before production – especially on poly blends where dye migration can occur.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Monarch Summit White LB?
It is Monarch Color’s newest plastisol white – a creamy, high-opacity, low-bleed white built for screen printing on dark garments. It prints bright and clean on both automatic and manual presses.
What does the “LB” mean?
LB stands for Low Bleed. Summit White LB has good bleed resistance, which helps block dye migration when you print on polyester blends and tri-blends.
What fabrics can I print it on?
Polyester blends, tri-blends, poly/cotton, and 100% cotton. It is a versatile white for most apparel a shop runs.
What are the flash and cure temperatures?
Flash at 240-260°F (115-127°C) and cure at 320°F (160°C). On cotton, heavy ink deposits, or heavyweight garments, you may need higher temps or longer dwell – always run a fusion test.
Do I need a viscosity modifier or reducer?
No. Summit White LB is a creamy, short-body, low-tack ink that prints through finer mesh straight from the bucket. Just stir it before printing.
Does it need a white underbase?
It is a high-opacity white built for one-stroke coverage on darks, so most jobs print direct. On poorly dyed polyester or severe dye migration, use a barrier/gray-blocker base underneath.
How does it compare to Monarch Yeti and Stark White?
Yeti White is the brightest, whitest, low-cure option; Stark White LB uses Apocalypse technology for a soft satin hand on cotton and 50/50. Summit White LB is the newest – a creamy, low-bleed all-rounder for poly blends, tri-blends, poly/cotton, and cotton.
Is it non-phthalate and safe for apparel?
Yes. Summit White LB is formulated non-phthalate and lead-free. As with any plastisol, mix additives in clean containers to avoid contamination, and test for your intended use.
Still have a question?
We print with Monarch inks every day and are happy to help you dial in Summit White.
