Epson SureColor T3270 24” Wide Format Inkjet Printer – Film Positive & CAD Printing

Chromaline

The Epson SureColor T3270 was the gold-standard film positive printer for screen printing shops for nearly a decade — a 24″ roll-fed workhorse trusted for dense blacks, tight halftones, and reliable registration run after run. Epson has officially discontinued the T3270. The direct replacement — with an improved printhead, chip-free eco-tank ink system, and lower cost-per-print — is the Chromaline Epson T3170X Printer Package.

Description

The T3270 Is Gone. The T3170X Picks Up Right Where It Left Off.

For years the Epson SureColor T3270 was the film positive printer for professional screen printing shops — a 24″ roll-fed system that handled everything from spot color jobs to fine halftone separations with accuracy and consistency. It was the reliable backbone of thousands of prepress setups across the industry. Epson has discontinued it. If you’re searching for the T3270, the Chromaline Epson T3170X Package → is its direct successor — same Chromaline consumables ecosystem, same FilmMaker RIP workflow, improved printhead technology, and a chip-free eco-tank ink system that lowers your cost-per-print.

What Stays Exactly the Same

Same 24″ Roll-Fed Output
The T3170X is the same 24″ wide roll-fed format. Your film workflow, registration setup, and cutting routine are identical.
Same AccuInk System
Chromaline AccuInk UV-blocking ink still drives the T3170X. Same ink chemistry, same dense blacks, same fast washout.
Same AccuJet Film
AccuJet waterproof inkjet film rolls are fully compatible with both systems. Your film supply chain does not change.
Same FilmMaker RIP
FilmMaker v10/v11 runs identically on the T3170X. One-click halftones, InRIP separations — same workflow your operators already know.
Same Design App Compatibility
FilmMaker accepts jobs from Photoshop, Illustrator, and CorelDRAW on both systems. Nothing changes in your prepress chain.
Same Made-in-USA Consumables
Chromaline still manufactures AccuInk and AccuJet film domestically. Same batch consistency, same supply reliability.

What Actually Gets Better

No More Chip Headaches
The T3270 cartridge system meant chip authentication errors and wasted ink from failed reads. The T3170X eco-tank fills directly from 140 mL bottles — no chips, no authentication, no waste.
Better Halftone Capability
The MicroTFP printhead with 4 picoliter drops and FilmMaker native driver enables 150+ LPI with moire suppression — a major step up from the ~65 LPI ceiling on the T3270 with GDI-based RIPs.
Lower Cost Per Print
Bottle refills vs. cartridge replacements means more ink per dollar. High-volume shops running daily film output will see real cost reductions compared to the T3270 cartridge system.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is the Epson T3270 still available?
No. Epson has officially discontinued the SureColor T3270. It is no longer available for purchase. The direct successor is the Epson T3170X Chromaline Package →, which uses an improved MicroTFP printhead and chip-free eco-tank ink system while maintaining the same 24″ roll-fed format and Chromaline consumables compatibility.
My T3270 is having issues — where do I get support?
For hardware issues — printhead errors, connectivity, firmware, driver downloads — go to the Epson Support Site → and search “SureColor T3270.” Epson handles all hardware support directly. For AccuInk density issues, FilmMaker RIP configuration, or AccuJet film problems, call River City Supply at (512) 454-0505 — we have been supporting Chromaline systems since 2008.
Can I still get parts and support for my T3270?
Epson’s official parts and warranty support for discontinued models is limited and decreases over time. If your T3270 is still running, it will continue to work with AccuJet film and FilmMaker RIP. If the printhead fails or major components need replacement, sourcing parts becomes increasingly difficult. Planning your transition to the T3170X before a hardware failure forces the issue is worth doing proactively.
If I switch from T3270 to T3170X, what changes in my workflow?
Very little changes operationally. The 24″ roll-fed format is identical, AccuJet film rolls are the same, and FilmMaker RIP runs identically on the T3170X. The main change is the ink system — instead of loading T49 cartridges, you fill the eco-tank directly from 140 mL bottles. No chips to reset, no authentication errors. Most shops are fully up to speed in less than a day.
Is the T3170X actually better than the T3270 for screen printing film output?
Yes, in two meaningful ways. The MicroTFP printhead with 4 picoliter drops and FilmMaker’s native driver enables 150+ LPI halftone screens — a major improvement over the ~65 LPI ceiling on many T3270 setups. The chip-free bottle system also eliminates cartridge waste and lowers cost-per-print on high-volume film output. See the full T3170X package →
Can I use my existing AccuJet film and FilmMaker RIP with the T3170X?
Yes. Chromaline AccuJet waterproof film is fully compatible with the T3170X, and FilmMaker v10 DTP+ is the same RIP included in the T3170X Chromaline package. Your film supply and software workflow carry over directly from the T3270.
Does River City Supply have the T3170X in stock?
The Chromaline Epson T3170X Package is available from River City Supply. The printer drop ships directly from Epson, so lead time depends on Epson’s current order queue. Call us at (512) 454-0505 before ordering for a current ship date estimate.
