AMagic T3 Clear — Transparent Gloss Textile Foil

Clear foil is the printer’s secret weapon. AMagic T3 doesn’t add a color of its own — it adds a glossy, glass-like transparent layer that takes on whatever is underneath, so a printed color turns into a shiny metallic version of itself and the garment color shows through with a wet-look sheen. Use it to seal and elevate a design, add gloss over specific elements, or create custom-colored metallics by foiling over colored ink. It applies like any AMagic foil: screen print a foil adhesive, cure it, then heat-press the clear foil so it bonds only where you printed. Comes on a big 25″ × 200′ roll.

How to Apply Foil

1 · Print the adhesive

Screen print foil adhesive wherever you want foil. Use 60–110 mesh, a 75° squeegee at medium speed, flood then print. Matsui water-based is our pick — it runs cleaner, feels softer and grips foil better than plastisol; Printers Choice plastisol works too.

2 · Cure & ready the adhesive

Cure/gel the adhesive per its instructions — roughly 284–302°F (140–150°C) for about 3 minutes — so it’s set and tacky, ready to grab the foil.

3 · Press the foil

Lay the foil dull (adhesive) side down, shiny color side up, over the printed area. Heat press 284–320°F at 40–60 psi for 6–15 seconds, let it cool completely, then peel the clear carrier film away (cold peel).

What is AMagic T3 Clear foil used for?

It’s a transparent foil that adds a glossy, glass-like shine without adding its own color. Use it to give a wet-look sheen over a print, seal and elevate a design, or foil over colored ink to create a custom-colored metallic.

How does clear foil show up on the shirt?

It takes on whatever is beneath it — the color of your ink or the garment — and adds gloss. Over red ink you get shiny red; over the fabric you get a clear, glossy sheen.

What adhesive do I need?

A foil adhesive, printed first. We recommend Matsui water-based foil adhesive over plastisol for a thinner, cleaner film and softer hand; Printers Choice plastisol adhesive also works.

Do I need a heat press?

Yes — apply it at 284–320°F, 40–60 psi, for 6–15 seconds, then cold peel after it cools. A home iron won’t give consistent results.

Hot peel or cold peel?

Cold peel — let it cool completely before peeling the carrier film, or you risk lifting the foil.

What fabrics can I use it on?

Cotton, blends, polyester and more, as long as they take the adhesive and tolerate the press. Always test your fabric first.
