ROQ uses a simple 4-part code: T [length] [width] [power]. T = Tunnel dryer. The length code (30/45/60/75/90) refers to drying-area length in decimeters — so 60 = 6000mm ≈ 20 ft. The width code (09/11/15/18) is belt width in 100mm units — 15 = 1500mm. The final letter is the power source: E (Electric), G (Gas), or GE (MIX, gas+electric switchable). Adding GP = gas with heat exchanger (no yellowing); 2B = twin bidirectional conveyors. Example: T6015G = Tunnel, 6000mm drying area, 1500mm belt, Gas-powered. Example: T9018GE-2B = Largest SAHARA, 8800mm × 1800mm belt, MIX gas+electric, with twin belts.
How much power does a SAHARA actually draw?
Depends on the size and power source. Electric models range from 22.5 kW (smallest T3009E, T3011E) up to 72 kW (largest T9018E). Gas models produce 52 kW of heat output on smaller T30/T45 series and 140 kW on the larger T60/T75/T90 series — with gas-only models still needing 2–5 kVA of electric for the fan and controls. Natural gas consumption ranges from 1.5–9.6 Nm³/h (50,000–332,000 BTU) depending on model. LPG uses 0.6–4 Nm³/h. Electric and GE models connect to 3×230V or 3×400V+N service, 50Hz or 60Hz. What’s the temperature range?
90°C (194°F) minimum to 200°C (392°F) maximum. That covers every standard screen-print cure profile: plastisol at 320°F, water-based/discharge at 300–320°F, DTF adhesives at 290–320°F, and specialty inks up to 390°F. For production-critical jobs we recommend verifying actual cure temp on your specific ink/fabric combination with an Atkins donut probe.
E, G, or GE — which should I choose?
Factory codes: E = Electric, G = Gas, GE = Mixed (gas + electric, switchable). GAS (natural gas or LPG) is typically the lowest operating cost per hour for high-volume shops with utility hookup — gas SAHARAs put out 52–140 kW of heat for roughly the electric consumption of the fan and controls only. ELECTRIC is clean, zero-combustion, and easier to install in facilities without gas service. GE lets you switch between gas and electric at the press of a button — valuable if gas prices are volatile in your area or if you’re not sure which utility you’ll have long-term. If you print white or light-colored fabrics at volume, also ask about the GP option — gas with a heat exchanger that isolates combustion byproducts from the airflow and prevents yellowing. What does “Standby Mode” actually do, and does it really save 50%?
Standby Mode automatically drops the dryer to a lower holding temperature when idle (during breaks, screen changes, press setup, etc.), then ramps back to cure temp on command. Combined with programmable start/stop scheduling (auto-on before your shift starts, auto-off after), ROQ cites up to 50% energy savings vs. traditional gas conveyor dryers that run at full cure temp 24/7. Your actual savings depend on how often your old dryer sits idle at full temp — for most shops that’s 2–3 hours per 8-hour shift, so real-world savings are substantial.

How long does delivery take?
Every SAHARA is built-to-order at the ROQ factory in Portugal. Typical lead time is 8–12 weeks factory-to-door including ocean freight and US customs clearance. If you need something faster, ask about ROQ’s in-stock & ready-to-ship inventory — demo units, used units, and occasionally pre-built SAHARAs are available with 2–4 week US delivery. What about installation? Can I install it myself?
Installation requires a qualified gas/electric tradesperson plus a ROQ-trained commissioning technician to bring the dryer online, verify heat profiles, and train your operators. We coordinate that for you — we’ll connect you with local trades experienced with industrial conveyor dryers, and we’ll schedule factory commissioning. Installations typically take 1–3 days onsite depending on your configuration.
Will it fit through my door / into my shop?
SAHARAs ship in sections and assemble onsite — even 71″-belt models ship as components that fit through standard commercial roll-up doors. Minimum shop ceiling is typically 9–10 ft depending on model. Before ordering, we’ll verify your floor space (most shops need 30–40 ft of length for a standard SAHARA with infeed/outfeed), ceiling height, utility hookup locations, and exhaust routing. How does it handle water-based & discharge inks?
This is where the SAHARA’s forced-air chamber design shines. Infrared conveyor dryers cook water-based ink from above but struggle to drive moisture out of the fabric — most shops end up slowing the belt way down or running prints through twice. The SAHARA’s forced-air axial-flow fan circulates heated air through the entire chamber, which both cures the plastisol component and actively evaporates the water/discharge solvent. Same belt speed, same throughput, properly cured prints.
Can it cure DTF transfers and DTG prints?
Yes. DTF adhesives cure at 290–320°F — well within the SAHARA’s range. For DTG, the airflow is actually a plus because pretreatment and DTG white inks release moisture during cure. Many hybrid shops (screen + DTF + DTG on one production floor) use a single SAHARA as their shared curing platform.
Do I need a donut probe with this dryer?
Strongly recommended for any production-critical work. The SAHARA has precision contact temperature control, but the only way to verify actual ink surface temperature is with an Atkins donut probe (Cooper-Atkins 50008-K). We stock these — ask us to include one with your SAHARA order.

What’s the environmental / yellowing risk on light fabrics?
Gas dryers without heat exchangers can cause yellowing on white and light-colored fabrics due to combustion byproducts. The SAHARA offers an optional heat-exchanger configuration on gas models that isolates combustion from the airflow — eliminating yellowing risk entirely. If you print white-on-white, light pastels, or pima cotton, we strongly recommend the heat-exchanger option.
