When to Use UV Cleaning Solution
Any time you switch from OEM Mimaki UV ink to STS (or vice versa), run a cleaning solution purge on each channel before installing new cartridges. This prevents residual ink from incompatible batches mixing in the nozzles.
UV ink can partially cure inside the ink delivery system if the printer sits idle for extended periods. Run a cleaning cycle before and after any downtime of more than a few days.
If your nozzle check shows missing or deflected nozzles that don’t clear with normal head cleaning cycles, a cleaning solution purge is often the next step before escalating to service.
