Do I need the handle to use this pad?

Yes. The Red Brush Pad is designed to snap onto our reusable chemical brush handle. On its own, it’s just a pad — you need the handle to scrub effectively. Grab the combo if you don’t have a handle yet, or just the handle if you already have pads.

Can I use the Red Pad on thin-thread mesh like Saati Hyro or Murakami S-mesh?

Use extreme caution. Recent manufacturing batches have produced pads stiffer than historical norms, and thin-thread mesh (thread diameter under 34 microns) can be damaged by aggressive scrubbing. For thin-thread frames, we recommend our attached-handle Blue Brush instead — softer bristles, fully mesh-safe.

How many pads should I keep on hand?

We recommend one pad per chemical you use. A typical reclaim setup runs three to four: one for degreaser, one for ink remover, one for emulsion remover, and one for haze remover. Cross-contaminating chemicals on a single pad will compromise the next screen’s cleanliness. Color-coding (or labeling with permanent marker on the pad backing) prevents mix-ups.

How long does one pad last?

Depends entirely on volume and how aggressive your chemical regimen is. A typical shop reclaiming 20-40 screens a week per chemical sees pads last 3-6 months before bristles flatten enough to need replacing. Flipping the pad mid-job uses both sides and extends life. The handle, by contrast, lasts years — that’s the whole point of the system.

Does this pad fit other brand handles?

It’s designed for our snap-on tooth-grip handle (also widely used in the industry — CCI, Nazdar, and others use compatible designs). The pad backing has small recessed grooves that the handle teeth grip into. If your existing handle uses the same general tooth pattern, it’ll likely fit. Can I rinse the pad and reuse it?

Yes — absolutely. The pad’s bristles are non-absorbent, so chemicals rinse out fully without soaking in. Rinse with water between screens, shake or pat dry, and store the pad separated from others (a small open-top container or peg rack works well). Never store wet pads stacked together — bacteria love that.
