Saati Hydro Mesh Thin Thread Screens 20×24 | 12 Pack
Nortech
Saati Hydro Mesh Thin-Thread Aluminum Frames (20″ x 24″) are pre-stretched screens engineered for water-based and discharge printing. Saati’s Hydro Mesh technology resists water absorption, so the mesh won’t swell during long water-based runs — sharp, consistent prints start to finish. The thin thread opens up more mesh area for superior ink flow and finer detail than standard mesh, with excellent antistatic properties and stencil adhesion. Sold as a pre-bundled 12-pack — choose your mesh count.
More open area, sharper detail
Resists swelling on long runs
Smoother printing, longer stencils
Photopolymer, dual-cure, diazo, cap film
Consistent tension, 20″ x 24″ frame
8 counts, white or yellow
Price range: $329.99 through $385.99
Description
Saati Hydro Mesh (20″ x 24″) — Thin-Thread Screens Built for Water-Based Printing
When you print water-based or discharge, mesh matters more than anything. Saati Hydro Mesh is a thin-thread mesh with more open area than standard mesh — so ink flows and releases cleanly, detail stays sharp, and the mesh resists water absorption so it won’t swell and drift during long runs. Antistatic, high-adhesion, and compatible with every emulsion, on a pre-stretched aluminum frame.
Why Printers Choose Hydro Mesh
Optimized Mesh Geometry
Precision, thin-thread openings deliver enhanced ink flow and better printability — especially with water-based inks.
Resists Water Absorption
Hydro Mesh technology stops the mesh from swelling on long water-based runs, keeping prints sharp and consistent.
Excellent Antistatic
Reduces static-related issues for smoother, cleaner printing and easier handling.
Superior Stencil Adhesion
Outperforms traditional mesh with longer print runs and less stencil breakdown.
Better Coverage on Darks
More open area lays a vibrant, opaque deposit for higher-quality prints on dark garments.
Works With All Emulsions
Photopolymer, dual-cure, diazo, and capillary films — maximum versatility, reduced maintenance.
Standard “T” Thread vs. Thin Thread — What’s the Difference?
Every mesh count comes in different thread diameters. Standard “T” thread (Saati Hi-Tex, ~64µm) is the durable, high-tension workhorse for plastisol and everyday work. Thin thread (Saati Hydro, 31–70µm) trades some durability for a lot more open area — more ink flow, better release, and finer detail, which is exactly what water-based and discharge printing want.
| Feature | Standard “T” Thread (Hi-Tex) | Thin Thread (Saati Hydro / “S”) |
|---|---|---|
| Thread diameter | Thicker — e.g. 64µm at 158 | Thinner — 31–70µm by count |
| Open area / ink flow | Moderate | High — more ink passes, cleaner release |
| Detail resolution | Good | Excellent — sharper lines & halftones |
| Durability | Very durable, abrasion-resistant | Fragile — handle with care |
| Tension tolerance | High | Lower — gentle, even tension |
| Best inks | Plastisol (all-around) | Water-based & discharge |
| Best jobs | Everyday production, bold work | Fine detail, halftones, long water-based runs |
| Handling | Forgiving | Needs clean, burr-free tools |
| Relative cost | Lower | Higher |
Choose Standard T Thread when…
You print mostly plastisol, run high tension and aggressive squeegee pressure, want maximum durability, or want the most forgiving, longest-lasting everyday screen. See our standard aluminum screens.
Choose Thin Thread (Hydro) when…
You print water-based or discharge, need the sharpest detail and halftones, want the best ink flow and release, or run long water-based jobs where mesh swelling would ruin registration.
Hydro Mesh Count Guide
| Mesh / Thread | Color | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 81/70 | White | Heavy deposit — underbase, high-density & athletic prints |
| 110/64 | White | White underbase & bold spot color on dark garments |
| 122/55 | White | General printing with strong, easy ink flow |
| 140/48 | White | General to semi-detailed water-based spot color |
| 157/48 | White / Yellow | The versatile all-rounder — multi-color & good detail |
| 198/40 | White / Yellow | Fine detail, halftones & simulated process |
| 230/40 | White / Yellow | Fine halftones, 4-color process & discharge |
| 305/31 | Yellow | Ultra-fine halftones, CMYK & photorealistic work |
Mesh is listed as threads-per-inch / thread-diameter (µm) — e.g. 157/48 is a 157 count on a fine 48µm thread. Higher counts and thinner threads = finer detail; lower counts = heavier deposit.
⚠ Thin Thread Is Fragile — Read Before You Print
Thin-thread mesh is far more delicate than standard thread. Before you print or reclaim, make sure your squeegees, flood bars, scoop coaters, and reclaim area are clean and free of metal burrs, nicks, or dried ink. A single burr on a blade, flood-bar edge, or coater edge will slice or dent the fine mesh in one pass. Deburr and clean your tools, and inspect them before every use.
