Allureglow HSA Glow-in-the-Dark Water-Based Screen Printing Ink — Premium Photoluminescent Ink for Cotton, Blends & Synthetics

Allureglow

Allureglow HSA is a premium high-solids acrylic (HSA) water-based glow-in-the-dark screen printing ink — ready-for-use straight from the container on cotton and 50/50 blends with no additives required. In daylight it looks like a standard, vibrant water-based color print with an ultra-soft hand. Turn off the lights and the print emits a bright, sustained photoluminescent glow that recharges with any light source and never wears out. Add AG-CLA100 Low Cure Additive (1.5%) for polyester, nylon, Lycra, and stretch fabrics. Available in 13 daytime / glow color combinations. PVC-free. Drop ships from manufacturer — allow 2–3 extra business days.

✨ What makes it unique: High-solids acrylic formula delivers glow-in-the-dark effects with the same soft hand feel as a standard water-based print. No PVC, no harsh chemicals, no added activators on cotton. The Black/Green variant is a standout — prints black in daylight, glows green in the dark.
⚠️ Dark garments: A white underbase is required on all garment colors except white. Without it, the garment dye absorbs photoluminescent energy and dramatically reduces glow intensity and duration.

Allureglow HSA is the versatile glow-in-the-dark ink — a high-solids acrylic water-based formula that delivers photoluminescent glow on cotton, blends, and synthetics, with a soft hand feel indistinguishable from a standard water-based print in daylight. Ready-for-use on cotton and 50/50 blends straight from the bucket. Add AG-CLA100 at 1.5% for polyester, nylon, and stretch. No discharge activator. No drill mixing. No pot life limits. The glow recharges indefinitely with any light source — sunlight, UV, or artificial — and never degrades. Charge a premium for every print.

Printing Instructions

1Screen Setup
Use 90–200 mesh depending on glow intensity desired. Lower mesh (90–110) deposits more ink for maximum glow intensity. Higher mesh (156–200) produces finer detail with a thinner deposit and less glow. Use water-resistant emulsion.
2White Underbase on Dark Garments
⚠️ A white underbase is required on all garment colors except white. Without a white underbase, the garment dye absorbs the photoluminescent energy and dramatically reduces glow intensity and duration. Print white underbase first, flash cure at 160°F, then print the glow color on top.
3Ink Preparation
Mix thoroughly before use. Photoluminescent pigments are heavier than standard pigments and settle to the bottom during storage. A simple stir (not drill-mixed — no activator needed) before each session is sufficient. For long production runs, stir periodically to maintain consistent glow intensity throughout the run. Keep lids on containers when not in use.
4Print Technique
Use a heavy flood coat with light-to-moderate squeegee pressure using a 70–75 durometer squeegee. A thick, even ink deposit is critical for maximum glow — the more ink deposited, the brighter and longer the glow. For maximum glow on dark garments, consider a print-flash-print double hit for extra ink deposit.
5Curing
Cure at 320°F (160°C) for 2–3 minutes. Minimum acceptable cure: 90 seconds at 360°F. Airflow is important — open dryer gates and ensure proper ventilation to allow steam to escape. Always test dryer temperatures before production runs.
6Synthetics & Low Cure (AG-CLA100)
For polyester, nylon, Lycra, and stretch fabrics: add AG-CLA100 Low Cure Additive at 1.5% by weight. This lowers the cure temperature to as low as 280°F and improves adhesion on non-cotton substrates. ⚠️ When using AG-CLA100, wait 48 hours after curing before wash testing.
7Glow Testing
Charge the print under direct sunlight or bright artificial light. Green glow colors charge fastest and glow brightest and longest. View in complete darkness — allow eyes to adjust. Glow intensity peaks immediately after charging and remains visible for 4–8+ hours depending on deposit thickness and color.
8Cleanup
Soap and warm water. Remove ink from screens immediately after printing. If ink dries on the screen, use a water-based ink cleaner or reclaimer. No solvents required.

⚠️ White Underbase — The Most Important Rule in Glow Printing

Photoluminescent pigments need a bright white surface to glow at full intensity. Dark garment dyes absorb the photoluminescent energy before it can emit — the result is a print that glows dimly or barely at all, regardless of how thick the ink deposit is.

  • On white garments: No underbase needed — print glow directly.
  • On all other garments: Print white underbase first, flash at 160°F, then print glow on top.
  • For maximum glow on dark garments: Double hit the glow layer (print-flash-print) after the white underbase.

Finished Garment Care

  • Cold water wash, delicate cycle
  • Turn garment inside out before washing
  • No bleach — bleach degrades photoluminescent pigment
  • Do not iron directly on the print
  • Line or hang dry for best long-term durability

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does the glow last?

The glow is brightest immediately after light exposure and gradually fades over several hours. After a full charge from UV light, sunlight, or bright artificial light, expect a visible glow for 4-8+ hours depending on the ink color, deposit thickness, and ambient light conditions. Green glow colors typically last the longest.

Does the glow effect wear out over time?

No. Photoluminescent pigments recharge indefinitely. The glow effect will work for the life of the garment as long as the print is properly cured and maintained. Each light exposure recharges the glow.

Do I need a white underbase?

n white garments, no. On every other garment color — yes. Without a white underbase, the garment dye absorbs the photoluminescent energy and the glow will be weak and short-lived. Print white, flash, then print glow on top.

Can I print on polyester and performance fabrics?

Yes, with the AG-CLA100 Low Cure Additive at 1.5% by weight. This lowers the cure temperature to 280°F and improves adhesion on synthetics. Wait 48 hours before wash testing when using AG-CLA100.

What mesh count should I use?

90-200 mesh. Lower mesh = thicker deposit = brighter glow. Higher mesh = finer detail but less glow intensity. For maximum glow, use 90-110 mesh with a heavy flood and double hit.

Is this ink PVC-free?

Yes. Allureglow HSA is a high-solids acrylic (HSA) water-based ink. PVC-free. Suitable for children’s apparel and environmentally conscious production.

What is the difference between HSA Glow and DC Series Discharge Glow?

HSA Glow is a standard water-based glow ink that works on cotton, blends, and synthetics (with AG-CLA100). It requires a white underbase on dark garments. DC Series Discharge Glow is a discharge ink that chemically removes garment dye on dark 100% cotton — no underbase needed. DC gives the softest hand feel; HSA gives the broadest fabric compatibility.

Can I mix glow colors together?

Yes. Allureglow HSA colors can be blended to create custom glow shades. The daytime color and glow color will both be affected by mixing.

How do I get the brightest glow possible?

White underbase on dark garments. Lowest mesh count practical (90-110). Heavy flood coat. Print-flash-print double hit. Thick, even ink deposit. Cure fully at 320°F for 3 minutes. Green glow colors produce the brightest and longest-lasting glow.

What is the shelf life?

Store at room temperature (65-95°F) away from direct sunlight. Keep containers tightly sealed. Remix thoroughly before each use. Shelf life is approximately 12 months when stored properly.
