Printers Choice DTF (Direct To Film) Transfer Film is a high-quality, coated transfer film engineered for reliable, professional DTF printing results. Designed to work seamlessly with DTF inks, DTF powder, and roll-fed DTF printers, this film delivers sharp image detail, vibrant color, and excellent stretch durability after transfer.

Manufactured from a polyester and polyurethane blend, Printers Choice DTF Film provides a smooth, stable surface for ink adhesion while maintaining flexibility once applied to the garment. Images are printed in reverse on the film, then transferred using heat and adhesive powder to produce accurate, full-color graphics on a wide range of materials.

Available in sheets and rolls, this film is suitable for short runs, full production workflows, and roll-to-roll DTF systems, making it an ideal solution for shops adding DTF alongside screen printing or DTG.

Unlike other printing methods like Direct to Garment (DTG) and screen printing, DTF printing offers distinct advantages. It enables precise and detailed designs to be printed and is versatile enough to be used on various surfaces. Whether you’re looking to print on textiles or ceramics, DTF printing provides a reliable solution for high-quality image transfer.

Technical Specifications

Instructions for Using Printers Choice DTF Film:

  1. Printing: Begin by printing your desired image onto the matte side of the DTF film in mirror mode. Use CMYK ink followed by White Ink as needed.
  2. Apply DTF Hot Melt Powder: Evenly apply DTF hot melt powder to the printed image. Ensure thorough coverage and remove any excess powder carefully.
  3. Hot Melt Powder Baking: Hover the powdered film to bake the hot melt powder at 170°C for approximately 5 minutes. This step sets the powder for the transfer process.
  4. Image Transfer: Place the DTF film with the powdered image onto the material you wish to transfer the design to. Use a heat press set to 140°C and apply medium pressure. Transfer for 15 seconds to affix the image onto the material.
  5. Cold Peel: Gently remove the DTF film after the transfer process while it’s still cold. Be cautious during this step to avoid damaging the transferred image.
  6. Curing: Once the film is removed, heat press the transferred material again at 140°C for 5 seconds with medium pressure. This step helps to further set and cure the image.

Warning:

  • Powder Application: Do not apply the hot melt powder on the printer platen. It must be applied away from the printer to prevent the risk of printer damage. Inhaling adhesive powder into the printer’s intake fan near the electronics can lead to printer damage. Such damage may not be covered under warranty.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Always wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working with DTF products. This should include eyeglasses, a mask, and gloves. The fumes emitted during the curing of the powder can be hazardous.

Note:

  • Versatile Fabric Compatibility: DTF (Direct To Film) products are compatible with a wide range of fabrics, including 100% polyester, yielding high-quality results.
  • Minimal Pre-Treatment: DTF Station Transfer Film does not require extensive pre-treatment and uses significantly less DTG inks (Direct To Garment inks) to achieve good quality results.
  • Wash Characteristics: Finished fabrics or printed shirts exhibit good wash characteristics, ensuring longevity of your designs.
  • Minimal Hand-Feel: The fabric retains a very slight hand-feel touch, providing comfort and quality.
  • Efficiency: The DTF process is notably faster than Vinyl printing, offering a more efficient solution for your printing needs.

Follow these instructions carefully to achieve optimal results with Printers Choice DTF Film while ensuring safety and maintaining the integrity of your printer equipment.
