AWT’s official sizing recommendation: the scoop coater outside dimension should be 3 inches larger than your image area. This accounts for 1″ of coating margin per side (so emulsion fully extends past the image) plus 0.5″ of end cap recess per side (where the coater itself doesn’t lay down emulsion).
