Description
What Is NXG-41 Halftone Magenta P.R. Used For?
TW Graphics NXG-41 Halftone Magenta P.R. is a professional-grade UV halftone ink used in standard CMYK process printing. It is designed for predictable red and purple tonal builds and accurate color reproduction without the increased density of high-density (H.D.) versions.
If you print:
- Four-color process signage
- Photo-realistic retail graphics
- POP displays
- Event posters
- Trade show graphics
- High-detail promotional boards
- Transit signage
- Vinyl decals and overlays
This UV process magenta ink is built for those applications.
NXG-41 delivers balanced magenta strength ideal for maintaining proper CMYK calibration and smooth tonal transitions across gradients.
Designed for Sign Shops & Production Screen Printers:
Part of the TW Graphics NXG Advanced Color Gamut Halftone Colors™ system, NXG-41 is engineered for consistent dot structure and stable ink transfer during long production runs.
This product is commonly used as a:
- UV halftone magenta ink
- UV process magenta screen printing ink
- UV CMYK magenta ink
- UV four color process magenta
- UV screen printing ink for plastics
If you currently use Nazdar UV process magenta inks, NXG-41 Halftone Magenta P.R. is a strong Nazdar process magenta alternative with comparable cure speeds and substrate compatibility.
Where It Performs Best:
NXG-41 Halftone Magenta P.R. adheres to:
- Treated polyethylene (PE)
- High-density polyethylene (HDPE)
- Polycarbonate (PC)
- Polystyrene / Styrene
- Pressure-sensitive vinyl
- Static cling vinyl
- Reinforced vinyl banners
- Coated paper and board stocks
- Corrugated plastic (Coroplast™)
For polyethylene substrates, surface tension should be 42–46 dynes/cm or higher. Always perform adhesion testing before full production runs.
Recommended Screen & Printing Parameters:
- Mesh count – 305–380 tpi recommended for halftone detail
- Ink deposit – Thin, controlled film for accurate dot reproduction
- Squeegee – 70–75 durometer
- Pressure – Light to medium pressure
Proper screen tension and controlled ink deposit are critical for accurate halftone reproduction.
How It Cures:
This is a true UV-curable ink. It does not air dry.
NXG-41 cures under focused medium-pressure mercury vapor UV lamps in the 250–360nm spectral range. Typical UV energy requirements range from 150–300 mJ/cm² at 365nm depending on film thickness.
Under proper UV settings, the ink typically cures in a single lamp pass at production belt speeds of 50–75 feet per minute.
Pantone Equivalent:
- Pantone Match – Pantone Process Magenta
- Color Type – Halftone / Process UV color
- Match Type – Designed for CMYK process reproduction
- Note – Final color strength and dot gain may vary depending on mesh count, ink deposit, substrate, and curing conditions. Always test and calibrate before production.
Why Screen Printers Choose NXG Advanced Gamut Halftone Colors™
- Balanced process density – Ideal for standard CMYK calibration
- Clean dot reproduction – Optimized for fine halftone printing
- Fast UV cure – Designed for commercial production speeds
- Stable viscosity – Consistent performance on in-line presses
- Broad substrate range – Vinyl, plastics, Coroplast, coated board
- NXG-41 Halftone Magenta P.R. is ideal for printers requiring predictable process magenta performance without the added density of high-density formulations.
Nazdar® Cross-Reference – Comparable UV Process Magenta Ink:
Looking for a Nazdar UV Process Magenta alternative?
TW Graphics NXG-41 Halftone Magenta P.R. is comparable in application and cure method to Nazdar UV process ink systems used for four-color screen printing. Both are one-component, UV-curable inks designed for high-resolution process graphics on plastics, corrugated plastic, and coated board.
Like Nazdar process inks, NXG-41:
- Is a press-ready UV screen printing ink
- Cures under medium-pressure mercury vapor UV lamps
- Is designed for plastics, vinyl, polyethylene, styrene, coated board, and Coroplast
- Is optimized for halftone and CMYK reproduction
As with any ink substitution, adhesion, cure energy, and color calibration testing should be completed prior to full production runs.

How to Use TW Graphics NXG UV Standard Colors
Step 1: Screen Preparation
- Use a properly tensioned screen for optimal results.
- Recommended mesh count: 230-355 tpi (90-140 tpcm), depending on image detail.
- Coat the screen with a UV-compatible emulsion, ensuring full stencil adhesion.
Step 2: Ink Application
- Stir the ink thoroughly before use.
- Print using a 70-80 durometer squeegee with a sharp edge for crisp details.
- Use a medium squeegee pressure for optimal ink deposition.
Step 3: Curing Process
- Cure under UV light exposure at 150-300 mJ/cm² for full adhesion.
- Ensure proper exposure time in the dryer to avoid under-curing.
- Avoid excessive UV exposure, which can overcure and affect adhesion properties.
Step 4: Testing & Post-Curing Considerations
- Always perform an adhesion test on a sample print to verify cure levels.
- Allow the print to cool before stacking or packaging.
- NXG inks are designed for optimal adhesion, but post-treatment options (such as flame or corona treatment) may be required for certain non-porous substrates.
Recommended Printing Substrates:
✅ Plastics & Synthetics: Treated Polyethylene, HDPE, Polycarbonate, Polystyrene (Styrene), Static Cling Vinyl
✅ Rigid Boards & Papers: Coated Board Stocks, Cardstock, Pressure-Sensitive Vinyl
